    Me again :D

I've been saying for a while that what I'd build if I had the chance to go from scratch, is a Nissan S14 with a BMW M5 V8 engine in it. When Clive built this particular car, and offered it for sale at the start of this year, it was all I could do to stop myself from buying it. But when I found out that the guy that bought it from Clive happens to live barely 5 miles from me - the temptation was too much and I couldn't really say no at the second time of asking! Here she is:

    Highlights:
    Engine is an m60b40 (4l V8 from an E34 540 I think), with a M5 manual 6 speed gearbox.
Pretty much the entire Driftworks catalogue bolted to it (CS2s, Geomasters, arms, hydro)
    Nismo GT-Pro diff
Full cage, plumbed in fire-extinguisher, battery cutoff, K-Sport bucket seat and Sparco harness
    R33GTR Brembo brakes
    Digital dash

I've already replaced the steering wheel with my own black suede with yellow stitching Personal one, on a Driftworks quick release spacer. Got one or two other small jobs to do - like fitting the aero catches for the bonnet pins.

I'm going to concentrate on wheels / bodywork / paint / graphics, fun stuff like that - as all the heavy mechanical work has been done already.

And I might get back into competition drifting in 2015, because its been WAY too long :D

Got the first chance to have a closer look at the car this afternoon.

    Geomasters front and rear:

    Cooling shouldn't be an issue:

    Underneath looks ok:

The front wheels are full retard :wack: 18x9.75 ET+20, plus a total of 29mm from three separate spacers, so basically ET+1! They're about 6" too wide to fit on my trailer!! I've removed the 5mm outer and 9mm middle spacer, leaving the 15mm bolt on one still there - because with the extended wheel studs the internal drive nuts won't reach the wheel without them! Looking for some 17x9s I think :)

One of the first jobs will be to sort out this shower of piss:

I'm going to see if I can get something CNC'd up that looks more befitting of the build standard of the rest of the car :)

For now I'm sticking with the 300hp, but if that isn't enough (!) I'll be on the lookout for a crashed E39 M5, or just an engine.

Make it exactly how Clive had it, inside and out, and remove all the aids-ideas others have put in to it since he sold it, and you're on to a winner

This car was at it's best when Clive finished it. I haven't got a clue why someone would fit THAT shit to a car, never mind this one

Glad it's on the turn around :)

Didn't like the purple overfenders, or the roofing bolts holding them on, so took them off to see what the car looked like without them. Answer = better, I think:

Sideskirts need a couple more mounting points under the doors to hold them secure, but other than that I think I've binned off all of the silver protruding bolt heads for good old stealth black zip ties :)

Took a half panoramic photo of it, with the very similar 17x8s front and rear (having sold the 18s). It looks ok, but the wheels do need to stick out more (17x9s would be perfect) and needs to be lower obviously:

When I see the ad go up for my old car I kept looking back...

See a guy with username 'pikey' seemingly tempted and I was somewhat worried ha

Pleasantly surprised, Looks like you have made a great improvement already :)

    Oh and [IMG]

The car is pretty raw, it was all about the driving for me- get it out there and you'll see :) I never under sealed it as always planned on crashing it and writing it off- never thought I was going to sell it! Ha

Just to add. The car was set up to run:

    17x9j ET0 front with a 235/40 R17 federal RSR
    17x9J ET15 rear with a 235/40 R17 but used to run 225/45 17 as cheaper and easier with a 5mm shim.

    Cheers Clive :)

Didnt realise Driftworks already sell an extended billet ali handle, for £60, so I'll probably just get one of those rather than the £250 that Balls Grinding quoted me this morning to fabricate a replacement :wack:

That front wheel fitment isn't too mad with the ET1. Mine was 9.5J ET5 with just a lip roll and camber of course.

M5 engine would be incredible, do it!
