    LS400 VIP / SS-skid ship , SHES DONNEEE :-) big bitch skidz inside

    Right oh, first build thread ever even though I have done a few cars now, I usualy acnt be arsed make these as everyone has seen what bmw skid basher looks like, BUT what about an LS400 fat basher ???

    Basically I am turning my LS400 into this years skid car and here is whats done so far:

    *Auto box removed
    *Drift moto 1UZ to E36 box conversion done with M5 clutch
    *coilovers already fitted (but need winding down a fuck load more)
    *Bespoke proshaft in creation as we speak
    *clutch pedal draft fitted
    *70% stripped out
    *Diff is off and sent to be welded up

    Still to do:

    *gut it out more
    * Hot rod sill running exhausts that flair out just before rear wheels
    * Fit prop shaft
    *Final clutch pedal fit
    * Mount and plumb in my 40ft sky scraper hydro
    * Re fit diff
    * Fit my bucket seats and harnesses
    * Put my GTR-D's on the front and my skid spares on the back
    * Remove LPG system
    * Mod steering arms for a bit of filth lock
    * Wiring mod to trick car into starting and running.

    Few more bits but cant think right now, il just slam a random load of pics up instead.

    I will try to update when I can, though this should be an awesome thing on the track this year and get a few funny looks.

    Completion date is not set exactly but I want it done at least a week before the first buxton day on 22nd march.

    It's a Jimmy Up wheel, they do specials occasionally and ALWAYS sell out quickly.

    Thanks guys and the wheel seen in the upper pics is a jimmy up wheel. The one seen with a sticker on it is a home made jobby made from an old wheel I had in my classic mini. little re cover and heavy paint did the trick.

    Update wise: gearbox and new m5 clutch fully in with selector now fitted, but mod needs to be done to bring it further back.
    Seat slotted in for a hight test, bitch sits toooo low so I need to order some high mounts or weld a few blocks in the car.
    Had a looksie at the hubs and what can be done to give me some filth lock, seems easy enough with a little steering arm cut and shut.
    Clutch is in its final place (I hope) pedal arm has been shortened alot to fit and its now like a switch, will be interesting to try and drive casually.

    pics are shit as yet again this thread slipped my mind so I didnt take any relevant ones.

    This is the stock full steering angle, not to bad but cant wait to be a driving point and then get chopping to play with more angle.

    I have also tried to save the front curtain for the 'LOL' factor but they got too damaged in the process of taking bits out.

    Thanks for the comments guys, got my extra cooling fan through the post today, 16'' beast as she does have a rather big rad to keep cool.

    I am going to check in on it today as with a bit of luck the diff has been welded by a local dude and that can be re assembled and pit back in, the wait for the bespoke prop is dragging as once thats in its almost time for a little test tickle round the yard.

    But watch this space guys, the target date for fully sorted and issue free is 15-18th march ready for buxton on the 21st and 22nd.

    To fill some time I think the exhaust might as well get started, de cats with no silencers, exit behind front wheels then running down the sill level and throwing a small flair angle out just before the back wheel, hot rod style. hell yea.

    Ruishy1 - have thought about it as the yanks have a few charger kits knocking about but until its sorted and MOT'd to be dropped of at the local gas place to have its LPG kit removed, I wont know what exact room I will have to play with in order to get a boosty system in there.

    But remember its on an E36 328 gearbox, im not sure on the HP / Torque limit for them gearboxes and with more weight than an E36, it might just shred the teeth.

    The boxes are good for 600bhp+

    And they have a 1:1 5th gear, and I think you got a 3.6 diff in that, so it will be fairly low geared so will go well even without extra power.

    I remember Danny Neville drifting a stock auto one of these with just a welder no bother at all.

    Nice clutch pedal setup man, if you don't mind me asking, where did you get it from and how much is it? Is it specific to the bmw conversion as in enough throw for the slave ect? I'm thinking about doing a v8 turbo manual on my gs and as they never came as a manual (same as your ls) this could be a easy way round fucking about making a supra clutch pedal fit
