I'm new to the forums and drifting still getting used to the forums but here's my build Il try to keep up to date on it
Il start from the beginning was 95% stock other than cut springs and cold air intake and aftermarket stereo (sorry for lack of photos lost most of them) had to make a steering wheels adapter because they no longer make them for e21 at this point iv done front adjustable suspension, seat brackets harnesses and harness bar, and a few other things for some bassett 15x7 4" backspace for the front and decided to begin body work ordered parts for the turbo. Didn't have lots of money at the time so went with a cxracing turbo AR.50 compressor and .63 housing i think, emusa 38mm wastegate, emusa intercooler, and and a few other things welded trim holes and side marker holes. 2 coats of primer more body work and sanding got the primer tinted darker to get a matte grayish look checked to see if the wheels would fit in the back and they kinda did had to roll the fenders a little painted the engine bay got a rear stress bar in ( just tacked on the picture but welded after) shaved trim shaved side marker racing seat and harness the start to the manifold used from a old header off a Chevy. Cut the exhaust flange to save some money was my first time building one. Having a friend tig it didn't want to mig it. to the point in at know. Did lots more just little things like skid plate, gauges, wiring, etc
What brand are those white rims? American racing? Make sure you have enough play on the bolt holes of your manifold because of thermal expansion. They can be a bit oversized. Or you can make a cut in the flange.
Bassett, really cheap like $50 a wheel at summit racing and thanks il do something about that. Just a cut In between each exhaust hole on the flange?
Very nice work! Loving the look of the car. I had an E21 323i M50 drift car but it ate the driveshaft CV joints (trailing arm to diff shafts) and it had really poor steering lock, with no easy way of modifying for extra lock. I'd be interested to see how you do!
You can either oversize the bolt holes with the outer ones being largest and smaller oversized towards the center of the manifold or cuts in between each hole yeah. Don't know which option would be better I would guess the cuts. Full race manifolds have this as well, do a google search to get an idea. Doesn't have to be a wide cut.
Got the boost gauge installed mostly just needs a mounting bracket and tucking a few wires red in the day time blue at night Also got the manifold o2 sensor on and cut the bolt holes in the flange for the heat just set the turbo and wastegate on to see what it will look like just have to check for pin holes in the welds, paint, and heat wrap the manifold
Yeah I love the look of them, not many people drift oldish cars like this much so I thought I'd change it up a bit
I've seen on in the uk with wide arches and turbo engine, but needed a complete over-hall. It's the shark nose and single headlamps that makes them looks great I think
