So the wife has been for a drift passenger ride the other week at the Nissan Experience show. It would appear she has the bug, so acting on impulse, i said i would sell my daily for her introduction into rwd... We found this on eBay for £400 E36 316i with a long MoT Came with a private reg that we had valued at £800 but not sure if it can be sold yet... Anywho, its a little rough but will get battered i'm sure. Needs some TLC here n there but drives spot on. Usual plans are to weld the diff, fit eBay spec coilovers, get wheels and tyres, then skid and hopefully progress to a 2.5l conversion when we are ready for more power. Came home today to find poverty spec coilovers in the front room More than enough lows i'm sure. On the mechanical side, just service parts and a new induction hose. Also got new diff and subframe bushes for the back end, will bang those in when the diff comes out for welding Will have a tinker later tonight, off to Skidrisk next sunday to see what the day involves
Managed to get the service done, changed the induction hose, was well and truly shot Found a new one on eBay the other day so got it fitted up
Why buy 1.6 for 400 if you can get drift ready 2.5 with hydro handbrake instaled + harnases for 900 in this smae forum ?
£900 was outside our budget tbh, plus there was nothing on here at the time anyways. Wont take much work to get it drift ready...
Got the Coilovers fitted today, Nice and low up front, rear is still a touch high but hoping it settles down Drives spot on, nice and firm... Should be pulling the diff and frame out soon for bushing and welding [emoji4]
Quite firm but not too bad, fitment was spot on. Just need to use the oem top mounts and your good to go [emoji4]
Well, the diff is coming out along with the rear beam for welding and polybushes, Lots of crust underneath but it came apart with ease, however i had a poke around the rear sills and found them to be a little crispy too. Poked a little too hard, Ahh well, welder is coming out anyways i guess...!
i dont know what joms are like but i bought a set of TAtechnix off ebay £142 posted and for what ive paid im very impressed, UKtuning shop was the company
I had the TA's on my old MX5, for cheap and cheerful, i thought they were spot on. My wife paid for the Joms, think it was about £167 posted from Germany. Only took like 3 days too! Really happy with them so far
