| tail slider | Amazing, you're 16 and tune a S14 and not doing it cheap either, darn I have a lada and I'm a year older (actually got it when i was 16). Good luck with it I'd have a cheaper car for doing it first time, no worries when wrecking it, but I couldn't afford S14 at the moment anyway |

| touge runner | I hesitate between : 1) Top Mount turbo kit (XS-Power) + FMIC and after (maybe in 1 or 2 years) V-Mount ; 2) Garrett GT2876R (AR C => 0.70 ; AR T => 0.64) in top mount + FMIC and after (maybe in 1 or 2 years) V-Mount ; 3) Garrett GT2871R (AR C => 0.60 ; AR T => 0.64) in top mount + FMIC and after (maybe in 1 or 2 years) V-Mount ; 4) Garrett GT2871R (AR C => 0.60 ; AR T => 0.64) in low mount + FMIC ; Please help me... |

| Ahhh-haaaa turbo tech, lovely territory, you'll find the 2876 to have a harsh surge line, if you get copies of the Compressor maps you can plot the boost points at a given pressure to see approx where you can expect boost at that pressure. The first rpm range you calculate which breaks through the surge line will be the approx RPM that you see the given pressure at. The only variant then will be turbine hsngs, as most turbo manfs don't publicise there turbine maps. |

| The 2876 will have more lag than a 2871 but will pull harder to the redline, so it depends on what you want. With just a FMIC expect 330-350hp i guess from the 2871, not sure about the 2876, but apparently the 2871 spools extremely fast. As well the 0.64 can reach 400hp, with the right cams, upgrade intake manifold etc. Stick with low mount as well, so you don't have to worry about oil/water lines and all that stuff. Unless you're prepared to pay out for all that stuff, both turbos bolt right on the the stock SR manifold. For now, stick with the FMIC as it is more of a bolt on (not exactly but bear with me), instead of the v-mount which requires alot of cutting, extra brackets etc, and unless you can do it yourself you'll pay too much. If you're worried about airflow put some fans on the the radiator, i found a thread somewhere on how to make a cheap fan setup, (using universal fans or something) i can't find it right now, i'll look for it after school (i'm only 15, 16 in february, getting my car in march hopefully a R32 skyline GTS-t 4dr!! We can import them for $5000CAN here, gotta love canada, other than footy isn't very popular here)good luck with it all, hope that helped (feel free to correct me if any of that is wrong, anything i know is just from forums, friends cars or magazines that is until i get my car =) Last edited by VIP.DRFT : 14-12-2006 at 15:28. |

| touge runner | Good luck with your R32 skyline GTS-t 4dr My project is a drift/track project. I need a turbo who spools fast and who's big (up to 400-450hp). The 2871 spools very fast with a FMIC. So I think I'll try the Garrett GT2876R (AR C => 0.70 ; AR T => 0.64) in top mount + a V-Mount IC (who, I think, should spool very fast too with it) Tell me if I'm wrong Thanks |

| Thanks! Should be a fun car to go to and from school with + learn to drift. If you're looking for 400-450hp, just get the 0.84A/R GT2871R, i believe it can make this power and will still spool very fast. The GT2876R will provide your 400-450 at lower boost thus have a large scope for more power later (boost is addictive )v-mount or FMIC doesn't matter, won't spool it faster, though a v-mount is obviously more efficient. try to find something like this ![]() the guy got it custom made by Forge Motorsport. sideways.taff is the guy doing the crazy SR20 GTS Skyline with v-mount, he can probly help you out, where in paris are you? (jw cause i've been there, lovely city) |

| CHUNKY MONKEY | You're right, We are not allowed to modify our cars but unlike other countries like yours, We don't have to declare the mods. So we could swap like , passing the mot and having a normal insurance. The only problem with have it's the police when they are clever and if we are involved in a accident.... But with a sleeper, no prob ![]() |

| wow, thats the station where i came in from england i think.... well first you go to Calais from england, then to paris if i remember right, and i stayed right near Monmartre. with not being allowed to modify cars, are all modified cars completely sleepers? Whats the rule/law for that? anyways, hope all goes well with your car, anymore updates in the works? ![]() |
