I went on Sunday to my garage, and I had only 2 hours for any work... So I decided to repair my Breather Tank adapter fitting

It looked like this before. There was only one little thread on it...

So I took a 6mm screw, I cut it to the original specification and then I did a 2mm hole in it (like in the original fitting) and I enlarged the entry to 3mm.

Then, I did a 5mm hole in the screw's head and I tapped it with a M6 tap.

That's it

Now, just a bit of liquid gasket and a little bit of red Loctite

Done We can't see anything, it's like the original

The SR20

The Breather Tank plugged onto the adapter

And for a great end, my dirty Silvia in my very clean garage

Thanks

I did a little bit of work this weekend

First, I wanted to see how a wastegate is working

Then, I catch my poor manifold... The inside... With a big hole and a long crack...

Second crack...

And here, the inside almost like new I still have some work to do on it, but the hole and the crack don't exist forever

Like new, isn't it ??

On the SR

The machine

It touches... But I wanted it to touch

I did the same position that inside

The angle of the steering column

It would be like that, in theory

But I decided to do it otherwise

So I cut the 50mm flange, I took a 2.25" SS IC piping, I adapted it to the manifold and I welded it on It's not that beautiful, but there will be some heat wrap on it

Manifold + WG

But when I wanted to bolt at 100% the manifold to the head, the V-Band flange is touching the frame... So I have a little bit more work to do on it

The last one on the SR So HOT!!! Now I'm just waiting for my Garrett GT3076R (Twin T3 Scroll A/R.78) that would be sent tomorrow by UPS, so I guess I'll have it for Friday to bolt it It would be awesome

looking good, but may be a silly question but how is the elbow going to fit onto the back of the turbo? looks like you havent got the correct elbo fitting for the turbo.

Merci MKdrifter

I learned a lot of everything I know in the different forums I'm logged in And I also learned some bits at school

And yes, I did everything by myself

The CXRacing rad is very good. I have a friend who's got one, and he's very proud of it !

Let’s go for a little update

The little snail on my worktable...

... and under the hood now

Putting the HKS Water Temp Sensor adapter on the water neck

Drilled to 10mm and tapped to M12 x 1.25

Done

Then, I did a little mounting plate for the oil catch tank

The SR

The CXRacing radiatior was a little bit twisted, so I danced few minutes on it

The manifold was sold as a T3 and is a T4, so I need an adaptor flange from T4 to T3...

So, I bought one on ebay

T3 Side

T4 Side

I just came back from my holidays I did some work but not much because I had a lot of work in the garden...

Firstable, 3 nice pics of the turbo on the manifold Shit of manifold, the flange is not flat... And screws doesn't match holes... So I had to use 8mm bolts and to do my best to match the adapter with the manifold flange. But now, it rocks !!!

I still didn't finished to mount my wastegate...

My piping being modified

My piping being welded

Elbow in da place

T4 => T3 adapter in

And a global view of my SR and the S14 before I left it alone in my cold garage

Now I just need to finish my wastegate and my intake piping

Sorry if it's a silly question, but did you rebore or even hone the block before installing the forged pistons? What was the odometer reading when you pulled the motor out?

I'm not as young as you are (I'm almost 20), but I also have a project that started when I was 16. It's nowhere near like yours though, since it's an almost 40 year old Datsun, and I took a different approach than you - the first thing that I ordered was a rollcage, just to be sure that I won't kill myself if I hit something...

Hate to be a pessimist, but instead of ordering all those shiny new parts I'd take care of the body stiffness. Cusco makes nice rollcages that don't go through the dashboard. I think that any kind of safety equipment should be worth considering now.

Pistons are the original size (86mm) But I hone a bit the cylinders And it had 156 000km on the clock.

For the roll cage, there won't be one. It's totally forbidden in a street car in France

And I'm an optimist, I won't hit anyone

Ktorego Datsuna masz ??
