Wow, I have not really got an update but had to quote this a Mike in liking a Corolla shocker! hahaha

Trust me these wheels stick out, the photos dont really show as the front wing in tha last pic is reating on the trye and the bottom of the wind (near the sill) is about an inch away from the bolt hole!

need mucho flare asap!

And re updates, not alot has happened, I hae redone all the copper brake lines as to be fair they looked shit before and the bends were wavey and to cock so I redid them but putting them in with the engine inplace is a bitch! But done now.

Also made a support for the ae86 radiator as the mounts are completly different on the KE so got some 2in x 2in right angle aluminium and mad a few brackets. also fitted fuel line and the handbrake was a bitch as for some reasone KE/AE86 handbrakes are different as I have used a AE86 rear axel. Good job I had a complete ae86 for the parts so all ok after making a new braket on the handbrake.

also fitted SS brake lines and clutch lines too.

And got some new stupid bolts from Toyota for the gearbox as lost them and they where and awkward style to replace so thats £16 wasted!

Im 'HOPING' to get it done intime for the next DW practice day but I doubt it, as I dont wana rush it and still need parts to buy but no more cash!

UPDATE!

Ok, well, things have been slow at camp Tetsujin. With little money coming in for the project and me buying that KE70 Estate things had to slow down before I resorted to the old credit cards! hahaha!!

I have sorted everything out that needs doing pretty much bar adding in the VEMS ECU.

I have bleed all the brakes, and clutch, and routed all the fuel lines for the in and return.

Also, I have fitted new discs and Mintex 1144 pads up front aswell as rebuilding the calipers.

after that its has really setting up the wiring for the electrics of the car along with a battery in the boot.

I bought a Redtop 25 race battery, as it was small, compact and light but did cost me £100! But its the size that matters!

please not, that I am still to clamp the battery down in this pic.

I also bought some thick battery cable and cable trunking to protect it and run it to the boot. The carpet will be covering it and its secured down with P - Clips.

so with that in and ready, it was time to tackle this....

I bought alot of new cable to extend to the alternator as the std KE70 engine had it over on the pass side but the 4age oot of a ae86 has it on the driver side and I wanted to make it all neat.

Extended wires to the alternator and added power cables from the starter motor.

need to get an Auto electrican out though as there is a bundle of wirs I just dont undertand so best get it done right!

so then, it was time to crank her over and make sure all the lights, wipers and stuff works still.

Its ALIVE!!!

everything worked a treat except for the wiper motor thats bust and the oil pressure switch on the engine, I replaced the Oil press switch and it then showed up on the dash so all cool, but need to swap the wiper motor with a spare I have.

Roll on the rest of the wiring for the ECU, then its justt a case of fitting the exhaust, getting it road legal, and setting up the suspension!

Adam

Well done Adam. You've done a cracking job there. It must be so exciting knowing very soon you'll be hearing the daka daka daka daka (catch) broom broom sound

Any plans for its maiden voyage ?
