thats right, should be coming back anythime soon, Simon86 is great and helping me out by making my old AE86 loom KE compatable! Hes the man ![]() Well here are some updates sine last time I posted, nothing much like but I will add em anyway as bored on my lunch! ![]() work bolting the lot back on the car. But I wasnt happy with the ilet sprayed silver so I shot blasted it so that it was a dull aluminium like my ITB's were. This looks much better IMO in the flesh, even though you cant tell too much in the pics. Just goot sort the wiring out. Gott take the old Vems loom out and then make mine run with a std AE86 loom! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() had the day off Wed so while I am waiting for my loom to come, I messed with a few things that needed doing. First off..... The early KE70 don't share the same top mounts with a KE so this made me unable to fit my AE86 strut brace. But I decided that I would just zip of the offending hole with a hacksaw and just mount it on 2 points each side. I have seen this done before so though, it would be ok! ![]() after a lick of paint and a bit of a file on the edges.... ![]() ![]() Also fitted the std Dizzy and Coil pack. Luckly there was alread two perfect holes for me to bolt down the coil. ![]() Also fitted my 14x7 supra wheels up front to see if they were better for clearence that my 14x8 Equips.... they were! Supras... ![]() ![]() Works... ![]() | |

| After fitting the front end back on with the JDM lights, I was never happy with the fit so I decided to take the whole lot back off. This was to do two things. 1. make it all fit neat and crap 2. Take car of any small scabs etc on the panels to stop any rust ever spreading in the future. There by no meens bad but we all knowhow these old Toyotas like to rust away before our eyes! ![]() finshed! ![]() ![]() Also fitted the backing plate on the front of the engine behind the cam gears as the new loom will be running behind it! ![]() ![]() Also, I decided that 8j are too wide for me at the front with the Negative Roll Centre Adjusters so I am sellimg my Works wheels. Now I have these for the rear... Volks Mesh 14x8-10... ![]() and I wanted some matching 14x7 to go with em. So looking on Yahoo, I ended up with.... ![]() ![]() I was sick of the std arches fouling the 14x8j rims at the back so I thought it was time to take action! ![]() Big tools in hand: 1x house brick wrapped in a towel 1x pair of pliers 1x big frick off hammer I do own a propper arch roller BUT as my car is gay, the arch roller will no go small enough for my tiy arch wells so it useless for me! ![]() Anyway set about and started off with this.... ![]() As you can see, it don't fit, and 14x8j -8 are not bolt on for the KE but.... a bit of tap tap tap, and pull pull pull produced.... ![]() ![]() ![]() I used pliers to start the flare off in the direction I wanted the flat part of the lip to go. Worked prety good. looked good but was still not cutting it for clearence. Sure it would of been ok if I mad it a bit higher but once you go this deep, there is no urning back! ![]() so, I found a bigger, better hammer, and really went for it... ![]() ![]() ![]() I know its not pretty and some of it looks a little 'dented' but thats what filler is for. Also fitted my recaro reclining seat and just bought a Border harness aswell ready for when it on the road and to keep my fat ass in place .cheers Adam ![]() |

| UPDATE! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Ok, got the car booked into a MOT on Sat 19 April, it passed with flying colours bar a simple bit of headlight adjustment which my MOT man sorted for free ![]() got the Tax and buzzed about. The car handled like shit and it wasnt very fast at all, seemed very down on power but I put this down to poor placement of the TPS and maybe the timing being slightly out. It aslo kept cutting out at lights etc but I thought, it would be the above, sort it when I get home... With about 25 miles under the new powered KE I was nearly back home when i hear a faint rattle....... This was a sound I have heard a few times before and knew what it was so I headed back toward were I keep my KE and stuff as I knew it needed a look inside, 4 miles later and the 'faint' rattle turned to a very loud rattle! I know the bearing where knocking! I thought I installed a 4age and not a CA18DET!! hahahahaAnyway, the engine is fricked, all that time and money spent all to waste in that department! ![]() so Sat wasnt a goo one, I felt down and depressed but knew I could get it working and now with the insurance and MOT/Tax paid up, I couldnt sit around and let it sit there like I had done before with it so... My good frind John, said lets sort it 2moro.... started early, and finsihed about 8. My mate John took the old engine out and stuff while I dusted off the spare 4age I had. It was very sorry for itself, looking all manky and stuff. Fine if I was taking one out like that but my engine bay was fresh so the engine had to match too. ![]() ![]() ![]() I got all the engine cleened up and replace parts etc dropped it in and all is now GOOD! ![]() |
