Rob: I plan to have the engine in by 6 weeks along with all the suspension, not all DONE like(still ahve to roll arches, rinish off body work, make the 16valve actually run, get it ready for MOT etc) I need to get the shell stripped so you can come and get you grubby mitts dirty!! ![]() |

| Ok, progress has been slow for the past 2 weeks and has set me back a bit but we are getting somewhere now! ![]() Got some new brake and clutch lines. ![]() Anyway, had to make the new holes for the Clutch Master Cylinder as the original engine uses a CABLE operated clutch but with the 4age I am using a T50 which is Hydrolic operated. So, as the ae86 pedal box is NOT a direct fit, I got hold of a nice AE70 pedal box as these are a direct swap for the KE70 item. Removing the old one is a pain in the arse and making sure the new holes are in the right place is a shit job too, esp whan your trying to be neat! ![]() ![]() new pedal box from AE70 - note added space for clucth M/S. ![]() Anyway, after measuring up the holes, I cut them out with a drill. ![]() While I was at it I got rid of the original bracket for the cable of the clutch as its bo longer needed and makes the engine bay look cleaner. Also, I drilled out the spot welds for the battery tray as thats going in the boot. So a little filler and sanding later its ready to primer!! so this .... ![]() turns to this...... ![]() ![]() ![]() Now I need to choose a colour. Who votes keeping it brown?? Or a dark gunmetal grey?? |

This isnt the Paz mobile! ![]() Im pretty set on brown TBH as its not a full out drift car or anthing, and then it all looks original and tidy. Anyway, white is too much of a contrast against brown. ![]()

| i think I am set on brown actually. Sure its not race car like, and its a bit 'boring' but its the original colour so will look more std then. Its not an all out drift car too, more a rebuild, fun at weekend car to be honest! ![]() I might be picking up a new project soon to. Something just like the KE except replace Toyota with 'Datsun'! ![]() |

| Man this car is going to look so good when done. Brown is a winner either way. Pink would be funny tho and pretty cool (pink + brown ). Personally I think yellow would look sweet and really accentuate (sp?) the engine. |

I got the pedal box from a mate of mine in Australia, the ae70 and ke70 are more common over there, but still the pedal boxes are in high demand! ![]() I can be safe to know I dont have to fiddle round making the ae86 on fit into the KE now so, all good! ![]() And re colour, I have ordered the paint this morning...... Its going Brown as Mr Toyota intended! ![]()

| not yet, just the engine bay for now. In fairness, the car is very tidy and dosent really need a spray. I will be doing it after the summer though, as soon, I will be flairing out the arches, and there are a few tiny repairs here and there so a full spray will be best. But I want to get the engine in and finished rather than have the car in peices for longer. ![]() |
