Took off sump to find loads of metal from the engine failiure

As you can see the mains are verry badly worn were the engine blew it was rattling like mad tho oh bad me.

un dun big ends and pushed pistons up and out put cap back on so theyre not mixed up sorr ran out of time for pics as was running late for my own birthday party

flodded my mums kitchen hall the whole house with car parts until my garrage is fully built good thing were redecorating the whole lot cos of the mess im making.

With the head stripped i marked all the valves up.

used the spring compressor with a block of wood to protect the head popped all the valves out used magnet wand to pull out collets.

state of the exhaust side covered with carbon.

state of inlet side as you can see all the casting marks

head face will need skimmin etc.

started to take off metal from pot to match gasket face.

sharpened edge and smothed over ridges

you must be verry carefull not to take off to much as this will weaken the head first went over it with carbide bits to take off metal then with stones to sothen off need to pollish up with paper all the way down to a smooth mirror image. then do the exhaust get the valves re-cut skim and polish the chamber.

Don't polish the inlet ports to a mirror finish, suggest you read up a bit about porting before you go much further...

Indeed, I posted that in a thread over in the technical section last week. I suggest you go and read up some more about porting before you go too far

apparently this prop will take it oh well ill soon find out.
havent been able to do much with the rain few more bit are on the way and cleaned up some parts.
decided the fuel rail looked a bit shabby so ive cleaned it up ready for lacuering.
grond down the braise and stripped the paint with a wire wheel.

mmmm more cleaning its all shhtty so that had to be changed all tho the looks arnt so important at the mo cant have it looking that shabby.

The superb stuff worked a wonder. Then i wire wheeled it all of and hey presto aceptable again.

Clutch was all crappy from not being stored to well so cleaned it up 2 decide the faces wernt to great so going to get them remachined and the whole lot balanced. Sanded over the friction pads lightly with 80git emery cloth to remove the rust and dirt.
