thanks for the feedback guys, it makes it all worth the effort.

but i'm sorry, no updates today. 15 hours at work makes for a slow day at the workshop. but tomorrow, and all through easter, i'll be there every day and nearly all night, so by the weekend there'll be a huge update, and hopefully my last parts will be here tomorrow

cheers and good night

well, last night was spent cleaning the workshop, cause it was getting impossible to move around.

but things i did other than that was fitting a new brakeline that i managed to ruin when i took the subframe down.
stripped the inside of the car out so it's ready for the cage.
put the controllarms on the subframe.

it's starting to look good

and other than that, it was a lot of coffedrinking.

but there will be a little update later tonight.

cheers

oh yeah, sorry.
last night me and smez modified the seats, since they built up too much. with my helmet on, i had about 1cm of clearence to the roof.

so first we took away the 1-1,5cm spacer between the seat and s/f.
then we took the seatfoam out and took away 3cm from that.
so nw we have to make some form of subframe mount for the seats.

but the gain was that i got more side support since i sit lower in the seat

before

after

and besides doing that, our resident welder has to finish of welding under the car, since there was a lot of rust around the front subframe mounting points.
but the job he does is completly amazing.
emil, you rule the welder (look, a free ad )

well. it's been awhile since i was supposed to update, but with so much shite going on here, i've had to wait a little with my car.
besides i've been having to wait for the welder to finish welding under the car.

but now i've gotten the diff and subframe sorted, and it'll be put on the car tomorrow.

here's the new diff backplate

and here the subframe is, ready to be put on again

sorry for the low res. having to use a cameraphone.

well, i'm still waiting for the engine coming back from the machineshop. the crank is still at some company for hardening.
other than that, if i can get of msn and get down and work on the car, it should be ready to be sent off to get the cage welded in

other than that, it's just small bits and bobs that have to be sorted now

and here is the updates for today.
after a little mucking around, the subframe finally found it's new home.

upskirt

then i got the controlarms fitted

and then, belive it or not, it's back down again.

i just love the feeling from seeing it down again. tomorrow i'll be fitting the bonnetpins, so then i'll be posting more pics.

and just cause i couldn't be bothered to manhandle the bonnet around, i started on the center console.

i'm going to get the gauges, switches and so on fitted, then i'll spray it black.

cheers, and good night

finally
it's been a long wait, but today, it finally came out for a breath of fresh air

so now my "to-do" list is getting way shorter.

- finsih ic brackets
- mount hydraulic handbrake
- piping for hydraulic handbrake
- air the brakes

that's being done tomorrow, and on sunday the car is going to get a cage mounted, and when it's back again the list is:

- get the battery mounted
- wire up the main power
- mount the main cut-off switch
- finish the center console
- modify and mount door cards
- mount aluminium sheet between cabin and boot

also, while the car is away for the cage, i'm going to repair the front bumper and respray it, and the bootlid and bonnet is gettig a lick of new paint.

by the time that's all mounted hopfully my engine should be around the corner.

so slowly, but surely, i'm getting there

thanks, i'm doing my best and spending a lot of time on details to get it right.

here is a mock-up of the center console i did tonight.
the only thing im going to change is the gauge in the middle will be a little more centered, and i'm not using those gauges. i just borrowed them of a friend.

so tomorrow i'll be carting my car of to have the cage installed, and i'll make the center console in alu, and have it painted so it'll be ready for the car coming back again.

it's been a while, but now it's back from the cagebuilder. he's had a lot to do between gatebil, driftbattle and buliding his house. and since my enginebuilder is taking his sweet time, i told him to just work on it when he's got time to spare.

just a few (bad) pics, but here it is

more updates to follow when i've got time to work on it.

and todays updates, for those of you watching, is that i've fitted my doorcards after cutting them to fit around the cage (sorry jay)

just a little rear view of the cage

and i have also started fixing my front bumper, after i managed to crack it in oslo after i brought it home.

get some pics of that after, i've just left it to cure while i had some dinner and updated the thread.

cheers
