| dorifto kingu! | drifty norwegian S14 build: the saga begins (potential modem killer thread) hi good folks, and welcome to my garage. in december i came across NTCjay's s14 for sale, so after a few emails, i got on a plane and went to england to pick the car up. sales pics ![]() ![]() when i bought the car, it already had the following: Engine: SR20 2.0 turbo, Rebuilt 10,000 miles ago including "new oil pump, rings, bearings, gaskets, honed bores etc. (hand-honed, just took the head of by the looks of things) 4000 mile old Garrett Gt28r (actually a gt25...) EXTERIOR.... Vertex style front bumper and skirts Wheels: 16” Panasport c7 split rims 7” fronts 8” rear after a loooooooooooooooooooong drive in a corbau seat that was about 1" too small for me, my hips hated me, and i had gotten to newcastle. here's a pic from outside my moms cousin' house. ![]() the day after, i went on the boat and across to stavanger. well.. driving a car set up for drifting, on partially worn summer tires from stavanger to oslo late december is what one could call tempting fate, but then again, it's a roadtrip it took me about 11 hours to get home due to bad roads here and there. but, it was safely home and put in the garage. after ordering a heap of parts, both from and a friend, the work started.we started by having it dyno'ed. result: 240rwhp at max, 214rwhp average. then we took it back to the garage to get started. first, we test fitted the turbo, and that looked cool. turbo test fitting ![]() after test fitting, the engine and gearbox came out, so the engine could get new internal parts. 87mm JEpiston. ![]() other than that, i've ordered -dta P8PRO fuel management system -eagle rods -dw rockerarm stoppers -new cams -fuel pressure reg -adjustable camsprockets -3" stainless race exhaust, with 4" exit -hydro handbrake -uprated sump for sr20 -uprated diff backplate -superwide carbon wing from dw -front and rear strutbrace -front swaybar -dw 4-arm kit -nismo gear- and enginemounts -poly steeringrack bushes -subframe bushes -front innerarm bushes -other reararm bushes -2 semi-bucket seats -2 new 4-point harnesses -original size, slotted brakediscs -other misc. parts ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() feel lucky? (sorry for ruining the picture )![]() ![]() ![]() the work so far: -the engine is out, and at my builder. (therefore not many pics of that) -all bushes are changed -subframe and reararms painted a sorry sight ![]() but looking better now ![]() before ![]() after (paint still wet) ![]() had to testfit the new rear arms ![]() nismo gearbox mount ![]() nismo enginemounts and steeringrack bushes ![]() ![]() my "to-do" list: -getting the hydro handbrake fitted -make seatmounts -paint rear diff and other small parts (while waiting for other parts) -mount engine and gearbox (when that's ready) -mount the fmic and piping -relocate battery to boot -fit kill-swithces inside and out -get rear subframe mounted after the car is ready: -get the engine dialed in -adjust suspension and controlarms -send the car off to have the rollcage mounted i'll be spending a lot more time at the workshop from now, and i've got a cameraphone, so pic's will be added every few days. i love comments, so say what you think and regarding the paintwork and rims, i can't afford that at the moment, so that has to wait for next winter before i do anything with that. besides, this year is only a test-year, so next year i'll be trying for some good results. cheers Last edited by smokey : 30-03-2007 at 14:47. |
