m3 arrived from having the cage made last week and we've blitzed the car in the 72 hours following.

Massive, massive thanks to Jason, Kris, Ollie and Jon if they ever read this. without them i'd still be on the first job of the day!

cage painted yellow, voltmeter wired, water temp wired, gauge cluster futted, aux fan wired in, air con removed, dash fitted, all instruments fitted and working!, headlights tinted, front panel and front bumper resprayed, kidney grilles and front rub strips resprayed, CAI kit plumbed in, cage padding fitted, soundproofing stripped, harnesses and eyebolts mounted and fitted, passenger seat subframe made and fitted, car polished, 20mm spacers fitted (ta kyle), straight through exhaust made (cats binned and 2x 2.5" tailpipes), calipers ground and painted, some alarm wiring binned/tidied, mim alloys nearly finished painted, sunroof sealed.

pics! some shamelessly stolen and resized from Chizfab, so thanks to him for those.

interior back in, some gauges added and a fan switch, and lovely sparco wheel. dash chopped so it can accomodate the cage and i'm keeping the centre console for a little bit of home comfort at not much weight expense

gratutious use of yellow hammerite! cage was given two coats but hadnt quite dried in time for crail, so some of its stuck to the seats. Sparco Pro 2000s were purchased ages ago, and have been in my silvia since. at £284+vat each new, i nearly cried so got this pair second hand for a little over £300. Drivers sliding side mount is a chizfab construction and passengers is my own. Hydro is fitted but needs bleeding as its quite slack still. Ebay purcahse of yellow roll cage padding.

various gauge wiring has been quite tidy really! ebay spec CAI fitted and takes all its air from a pipe mounted in the front bumper. Air conditioning has also been removed and its radiator has been mouted and wired in front of the main rad now.

£15 exhaust system made by JK motorsport (you know who you are). Cats have been cut out and the back box is gone too (it wieghed 20-30kg!) Loud has been redefined!!

Repainted the front end, tinted the lights, and gave it a polish. looking mean! Grilles blacked, rubbing strips painted and towing eye present as ever.

Having a little lineup with Jeek to listen about kids and stuff

IF IF IF IF i can find time this week before EDC knockhill team drift, both passenger doors need changed, and groovy wheels need painted and tyres fitted. And i still can't find any suspension! wahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Spare set of Mim alloys, 16x8j and ET10. Will be running 20mm spacers all round to keep the offset police well at bay.

Just being painted Volvo Graphite Grey with a yellow lip to match the cage. centre caps painted but not pictured.

Sweet car.

The lights are terrible as are the yellowing of the cage and lips... you shouldn't care what I think, but being able to see at night is a good thing right?

And 8J ET-10 all round will rub I think? Especially on the front?

Cage looks good. Any more being made?

Great project, keep it up pal.

hi will, i guess thanks for the comments

you're right the yellow is down to personal tastes. i'm never gonna please everyone, but you're the first person to react adversely to it. infact, i've just had a PM through after posting the pic to say how nice the wheels were. As for the red/yellow/black colour scheme, its meant to be a simple choice of primary colours that shouldnt look too upsetting, should stand out but not look garish, be easy to source matching parts for, and also this happens to reflect the colours of the german flag. (to reflect the german car, i am scottish myself)

the lights didnt go according to plan as the tint spray was murderous shite. but i do prefer them to the normal yellowey grey. the car doesnt get used at night, its not road legal and i have no night events planned.

I have the same wheels on my touring lowered 60mm and 215/40 tyres with ET3 on the back and ET0 on the front, and theres no rubbage. So i'm conjecturing that ET-10 will be okay running standard ride height and 205/45s for now. My gut instinct is that it won't be a problem.

PM chizfab for any cage questions as its his construction as part of a new business venture!

I like this a lot. Top job on cage and other work done. I like the interior paint scheme, and love what you've done with the wheels. Top work

Cool, it should look sweet with that much outage, and keep the wheels away from the inner wing. But you'll be wanting more rubber than 205/45's on a drifty M3.

Keep up the good work

got the 20mm spacers all round fitted the other day, and the mims tyred up and painted and some stickerage. looking quite mean

offset police can't touch me!

On sunday, went to knockhill after the EDC round for the EDC team drift event, and despite the car drifting wonderfully all morning, it threw a hissy fit and i missed the practice after having to change two sets of wheels and spacers about. (the front spacers came super loose super fast) absolute nightmare to do under pressure, and luckily mr jeeks could help for some of it, as he had to come in to change tyres too as his toyo 888s were far too grippy on the back. Had fun on the event, binned the car a couple of times but it was great to be out with the EDC boys and giving duffus dip a go! Hopefully i can find some pics of this on tinternet later.

Knockhill also had paddock 2 open all day, for free, so i managed to waste away a few sets of tyres (coming from the car which had only used two till now!)

Sorry mate, but I'm with Will

It just doesn't work IMO. Wheels are too small for the car to stick out that far. And the exterior colour combo aint to my taste either.

But the rest (inc interior) is looking great
