I have to put the GTS on hold though because I dont have the cash to buy the engine at the moment which is to be my next purchase, so rather than plod along with little jobs on the R324 I've decided just to put it on hold, build the kitcar quickly and sell that to release some fundage! (should be able to make £5k on the old thing - you may be able to help me, I need an Escort back axle ) | |

| -NightWalkers- | Betty: I'm sure I'll find an axle somewhere then The kitcar has a Sierra back end as standard so I'm gonna lop the rear end off just behind the seats and make a new rear end with an Escort back axle in there instead.. I'll probably pop a few updates on the forum as and when the kitcar takes shape lol... it'll be pretty hardcore...![]() Mat: WWRS is pretty big, nothing massive but its a case of if you need anything for a Mk1 or Mk2 Escort they'll have it. |

| -NightWalkers- | Well its low(er) but still needs to go lower. 60mm lowering springs just isn't enough on a lightened e30 is it! ![]() I nearly killed myself twice when trying to get the old springs out lol.. I couldn't be arsed with spring compressors on one of the rear springs having pissed about for way too long on the first rear spring I decided to set the grinder to the second one... All was going well until I got to within 1mm of going through the coil... then "BANG" the whole spring collapsed and crushed the cutting disc which then exploded into pieces and then the spring shot out over my shoulder!!! hahaha. Happy days. Having had that fright I decided that spring compressors were the way to go for the fronts... did one side fine, struggled a bit with the second... tightened the spring compressors up as far as they'd go, twisted the spring to get it out and one of the compressors slipped off the coil and shot off the spring and out between my legs... hehehehe... That was a heart stopper lol! ![]() Whats left on my to do list? * Cut coils out of the springs * Sort out dodgy wiring (found a live wire dangling around the engine bay) * Buy and fit four point harness. * Insurance and TAX * Diff it up. |

| -NightWalkers- | Well after a weekend of me giving it death and Mike having a go in it... it still lives, its just a bit battered. I'm surprised the curse of Mike didn't kill it to be honest. It now has no exhaust and only three vaguely working brakes. I took the splitter off on a tyre and the balloon spec tyres combined with the boat spec suspension had a go at flaring my arches the wrong way... ![]() ![]() ![]() This is where the exhaust dropped off from... its loud now: ![]() Self induced attempted arch flaring: ![]() |
