| -NightWalkers- | Yeh probably (Taff*tune E30 Touring) but the post wasn't exactly the most informative. I sort of made them myself using a coilover tube from Rallydesign that are usually used on Ford Escort coilover conversions, then got some spring platforms for them and used an old spring that was in one of my storage boxes but the fronts are too long though, so need to get around to measuring them and ordering shorter ones. Then I just screwed in some Bilstein shocks and got some camber top plates. I need to sell the camber top plates really and get some less chunky ones. ![]() ![]() |

| -NightWalkers- | Finally got round to getting the steering column UJ's off and stripped them down, degreased them and cut the rubber off and solid mounted the two parts together. ![]() Revamped brake servo went back on too ![]() More lock to come once my dads been to his mates place to make me some spacers, he's going to make some rack mount spacers too. This lock isn't completely full lock as it kept bouncing back a bit when I let go of the wheel so its not a true representation of where it actually is at the moment. ![]() Painted up the impaling spike mounts too, those frickers are gonna be deadly!! ![]() On an aside I've cobbled together a Nissan suspension bush extractor out of a length of threaded bar, a 22mm socket, a left over section of rollcage tube from the R324 and two old Alfa bush inserts! Works a treat and pulls the whole lot out in one go without needing to burn anything or cut any sleeves! Result.. should mean that replacing the knackered bushes on the GTR should be easy tomorrow night so I can get it booked in for an MOT next week in time to make the trip to EDC@Pod! ![]() ![]() |

| -NightWalkers- | I've kept away from the spikes so far lol. I've only had them on the car for a few hours in total so I've not left myself open to self-impalement. Yeh the Escort struts are 2" so as near as damn it to the 51mm BMW struts, a bit of wet and dry on them and some lube and they slid on a treat. Leaves plenty of room for adjustment and spring length changes. |

| -NightWalkers- | Yeh, thats the problem I've currently got along with the fact that the springs are too long. You can see that the lower spring platforms are right at the bottom and that there's about an inch and a half of travel left in the shock, so if I can lose about 3/4rs of an inch off that travel and leave some in there with a shorter spring where the lower platforms are sat half way up the adjustment then I'll be running lower. Combine that with some machine work to the top spring seat and some new slimline topmounts and I should be able to drop it a good 30mm further again. It wont be uber low by MJG/Dex standards but to be honest, I don't want it uber low as I think that is gay! ![]() Last edited by sideways.taff : 03-07-2008 at 23:18. |
