Taff*tune E30 Touring

A weekend of tramp drifting with Mike and the others down at Brawdy was too much of a laugh to resist the way of the tramp for any longer.

In the three days since the weekend I've managed to find myself a cheap E30 318i Touring. The body is all solid with no major rust patches anywhere, just little fleks of orange where the paint has been chipped away. It runs and drives fine, drives in a straight line, accelerates nicely, brakes well and in a straight line. It has a slighly rattley tappet on one of the front two cylinders which did get better as it got hotter so I'm hoping a nice engine flush and oil change will reduce it some more. I'm not overly fussed about the engine really, just wanted a nice straight shell that is ripe for an engine swap when this ones dead. I'm slowly going to get the parts together to swap the lump out for something a bit more meaty, maybe an M50 lump but the 318 lump will do me for now.

Its MOT'd till January but the TAX ran out last week.

I'll pick the car up tomorrow so I'll be setting to work stripping it of excess weight in the afternoon, may even get the diff out of it and get it welded. Seeing as I've got an arch roller at my disposal right now I might as well roll the arches a bit for when I do get some pimp dished rims to drive around on.

Anyway, thats it for now, its something that the majority of DW never thought would happen, but there we have it I've gone and bought myself a tramper! Pictures to follow tomorrow.

I think I almost killed it on the way home!!! hahahaha! It was boiling a bit when I got home and was pretty smokey... Might need that engine swap sooner than I thought!

four pot of doom.... its obviously boiled at least once before lol... judging by the smears on the rad and bonnet!

Tes wasn't sure what to make of it. Either she thought it was her new bed or she didn't like the smell... maybe it reminded her of the smell from Friday night... the smell of a tramp..!

Hahahah. At least it got you home. I think you should get a 2.5 before it blows, otherwise you'll have another engineless car and you might get tempted to just clean the engine bay, just strip it back to a bare shell, just re-engineer the rear subframe, just knock together some custom tubular front end........

Bless Tes, she loves the smell of tramp, as the tramps gave her love on Friday. Post up a picture of her, she's very sweet. Just a shame the weirdo speaks welsh. GWELLI, GWELLI!!!

bryn,

i got 2.5 conversion
e36 rack
diffs
polybushes (brand new in box)
disc braked trailing arms
a 318 exhaust with dtm backbox (achtung)
and loads of other bits and bobs.

just let us know if you want anything,

the car looks tidy, i was expecting a faded red 318 with gash steels with wheel trims.
