I realise vinyl companies are ten a penny, hence the reason i've been waiting so long to be remotley serious about it. I've dabbled before now, but i have a good understanding of the medium naturally, which as you well know cant be replicated! I've been doing professional design work since the age of 15, i've even designed prints for plates ![]() I dont intend to do anything mainstream either, i wont be producing decals or designs for just anyone. The designs above are only PS bash abouts, im still adapting to vectored files ![]() The advise on the cutter is well taken too!!

| Lol Soz for the hijack Stav i'll buzz you at the office 2moro somtime ![]() Mitto your welcome mate, and thanks the compliment back (i did game graphics/3d conceptual) I dont state i'm the best us designers are never satisfied eh but it is a buzz to see something you have created sit in front of you in the real world after a long days install. Then to see a grown man act like a little kid with a huge grin because of the transformation to his car That keeps me going through late nights and stress lol One thing i find very hard with SJS is to let go of the design reigns (tis the bottle neck of getting things done and its our reputation on the line) would you be interested in chatting about poss collabration on some projects? Finding good designers is like finding good vinyl fitters rare! been going 4 years now and still vectors do me head in lol Si Link to the latest creation this is the first 2 of 6 to be done! (they werent quite finished when i took these, so added a few bits to them at Japshow on Sunday) http://www.sjsdesign.com/large/euro1.jpg http://www.sjsdesign.com/large/euro6.jpg Last edited by SJS design : 11-10-2007 at 01:37. |

| nope, never the work is never done I'll be honest and say im not trained in any way, everything i know is from hours of messing, which means i've adapted to get the results i need. Nothing like the freedom of pens though, but then you have the arse of getting them on a pc and vectored again ![]() Id be interested in doing some bits and bobs, depends what you have in mind really? I have to point on thing out though, you HAVE to hammer the customers, your the designer! Hence my reasoning for being a little exclusive i guess. Design is looking nice, id add some more red at the back and drop the section under the wing mirror to give it a little more "stance" - headlight flames are sweet though, real deep redness brings me joy ![]() |

![]() Visualising a design in 3d is the hardest part of graphics design which is exactly why I'm in the process of making a wrapped 3d model of my car so that I can translate my 4 view 2d design into 3d and tweak it accordingly. I agree about the design on the Evo and GTO too, the Eurospec lettering is hard to read since its mostly backed with white and silver with just the thin black stroke to distinguish it from the background. Si, I'll have to get in touch when I need my R324 wrapped up. It will be worth the long trip over to SJS to get it done I think. How long does it typically take to get the stickers on a car? Again sorry for the off topicness... ![]()

| Hi mate, not trained either self taught 2d/3d in doing games since i was 17 then got out when i was 27 (never want to see that industry again! long story) set up SJS in Feb 04 using what skills i learnt then the long slog learing vinyl skills and application its quite an artform (not talking basic signwriting). I was worried Eurospec text wouldnt stand out but in the flesh it really does jump out. At Jap show you see the cars from a distance and it did pop from the background. Ive got time attack, drift, drag projects coming out me ear holes lol so yes my time as sole designer is coming to an end! pic from the side with a few bits still to go on http://www.sjsdesign.com/large/euro2.jpg No probs on the R324 just gimme a shout. Umm these kinda cars take a while a long day with 2 on it can some times see a project finished. It took me over 1 day just to lay one side of my car in my sig SO many layers... to many lol (i havent done the other side been to busy!) Got a a car coming over from wales next week then do travel to get us on the job Noooo its not just stickers its vinyl art and the car is the canvas I hate the word stickers i say decals or vinyls lolLast edited by SJS design : 11-10-2007 at 11:32. |

| BTW, this isnt spamming up my thread either, go for it, I love the graphics so its cool by me. Taffs 324 will look totally transformed with some mental graphics on it, needs to be nuts considering its a 7litre V8 going in, lol. |

My old design is fully wrapped (with white reflective logos) and yeah it helps having something to stand on to do roofs lol ![]() ![]()

| The Trust induction kit on my Chaser was properly filthy, and when I put it in the sink the sponge literally disintergrated, so another one was needed, a GTR one of course as its packing a RB26 motor... Being dissapointed with the price/quality of the Jap made ones and the lack of UK made setups, I was suprised to notice Forge Motorsport did a nice looking one, so I gave big Pete a bell and ordered it, and it just arrived ![]() Big Filters. ![]() ![]() ![]() Awesome welding on the filter elbows, and as a trick thing, the bolts are invisible from the top side, giving a nice smooth look. ![]() ![]() ![]() Fitting bits n bobs too... ![]() Im not one for caring too much about enginebay looks as long as it does the job, but that kit looks mint! ![]() |
