| SOLVED IT! The super fast indicators now are ok. Dont really get it, but dont care Checked VW indicators direct to battery, they work When daisy chaining a new bulb in it seemed like it didnt work as there wasnt enough power to light em up. This confused me as i didnt expect this as it was still flashing way too fast with smaller indicators fitted. By removing the aftermarket side repeaters some Japanese clown had fitted and JUST running the VW polo fronts, it flashes at normal speed and is bright as hell. Now ive got 2 big fricking holes where my side repeaters were, flange BUT i should have an MOT by the end of the day! |

| You gotta fill out the V55/5 (i think) to the best of your ability, take it all down to your local DVLA Office along with with the C & E 386 from HM Customs and you should be set. Take Driving licence too. |

| Dont they make you tax it at the same time so need insurance cover note too? I still need to sort that ![]() I presume they give you a reg but you have to go get the plates made? Dont suppose anyone knows if you can transfer a plate off another car straight on to a un-reg'd car while your doing the above? Then ill put the Silvias reg on it... |

| GRD Drift Club ![]() | Stav - I know you can on a brand new unregistered car so I presume you can on an unregistered import. I'd imagine you'd need V55, insurance for Chaser, V5 for S12, MOT for S12 and tax disc serial number from S12 [they can request to inspect the car if its not MOT'd/tax'd]. Might be easier to get the Chaser registered on the plate they give it [might end up being an OK plate?] then worry about swaping the BAD plate over. |

| GRD Drift Club ![]() | With no tax, they can still request to inspect it, which means karting it down to a VOSA station [think they basically check its not been written off or scrapped]. Just before I sold my car I transferred the reg off and just taxed it to get past this then surreneder the tax right away afterwards |

| I havent read this thread at all, In fact I have purposefully stayed away from it as I didnt want to seem like I was dissin your new ride, But the one thing that has me totally mystified given all the other comments you have ever made on any forum ever is....................why did you get a Toyota with an RB in it ??? The rest of the known universe is finally accepting that whilst the RB is an awesome engine that the JZ is probably awesomer for reliability and sheer "takin it up the ass" indestructabilitynessism, and unless you absolutely have to have the revviest thing possible with 1500bhp+ or a Skyline with the proper engine that theres better ways forward.................yet you buy this.......now..........my head hurts !!! It will look sooo much better, not just because of the graphics, but it will hide the 1000s of drift spec scratches, small dents, and absolutley terrible paint ![]() I WISH it had a 2JZ mate, i really do (though the turbos being on the other side stops it from having brake fluid boiling fun like Bon suffers!), but all I really wanted was a ready done proven drift car that wasnt a gay S/R body, quick, and ideally something 4door and wierd. And this car fitted the bill perfectly Thing is, there has been a LOT of work to RB it (subframe and chassis mods) so I dont think id ever re-JZ it. And RB26's are good, as long as they not specced all gay and wrong with silly cams and turbos from 1906 like most folk seem to, lol. | |

| Car is not MOT'd and Insured (only 45quid more than the 400quid valued Sierra GLX that the policy was previously covering ), and I was hoping that if the cover note arrived today i could go straight down the DVLA in Bristol, and as the start of the month is the quietest time for them, theyd have it all sorted by end of the day and I could be caning it around this weekend. But it didnt. So I cant. ![]() |
