fricking cover note came today, but the name/type of car is wrong on there! They had to manually change it but its still down a Nissan March on the cert!

Chassis number etc etc is still right, but will DVLA accept that? My guess is no

they did mine, but kenny was lucky when he registered it, the clerk guy was flirting with someone so didnt look!

taken me 5 months to get the right details on the V5 and it took me 4 cover notes before that was right.

It would be so much easier if the DVLA just imported some kind of Japanese vehicle database and added it to the current UK one. Government bodies suck.

yeah, the stupid thing is you tell them and you give them the documents and they still get it wrong. think yourself lucky it isnt a mark II,

"mark 2 what?"

"just a mark 2"

"a mark 2 supra"

"no, a mark 2"

"its got to be a Mark II something"

etc etc

i would try, dvla types are usually ok in person so they may let you get away with it for a while

I started by telling them it was a Mark2, as it is technically, and went through that EXACT conversation.

Then gave up and told em it was a Chaser as it looks like one now

The rest of the known universe is finally accepting that whilst the RB is an awesome engine that the JZ is probably awesomer for reliability and sheer "takin it up the ass" indestructabilitynessism, and unless you absolutely have to have the revviest thing possible with 1500bhp+ or a Skyline with the proper engine that theres better ways forward.................yet you buy this.......now..........my head hurts !!!

ARGH! CUSTOMS! THE frickING frickING frick frick frickERS

Went down DVLA yesterday with all the forms etc I needed and they said it was fine, will take 2days or so (ie today hopefully) and it will be sorted and can drive it.

Just got a call from them now asking what my VAT number is as the customs form thing they got is for a VAT registered trader, so cant go any further until the get the right bit of paper.
A bit of paper that it seems customs should have sent to me AND NEVER frickING DID.

Rob at Kleerfreight is gonna get on to customs and tell em to send it me, but now its even more a delay, meaning ill be lucky to get the car on the road this week now by looks of it.

Im fricking fuming. flangeS.

ive got the SHITTEST luck in the world i swear.

first customs fricked up my paperwork, delaying registration.

then DVLA are useless twats and have posted my documents on thursday to me rather than ringing me to collect (ie what i TOLD them to), meaning i could be driving the car now, but now I cant. if it dont arrive tomorro ill go mental.

NOW ive just found my back window smashed thanks to the remains of a fricking MASSIVE firework landing on it.

anyone got a clue where the frick i can get a JZX81 rear screen ASAP?

id get a perspex one made quickly but its curved as frick so guess that cant happen either.

That's shitty mate. Hopefully this all means that when it's finally working you'll enjoy it hugely and it'll all seem worth it.

if the DVLA shit arrives 2moro im driving it, rear screen or not.

but considering the luck im having id not even be slightly suprised if it doesnt and it gets lost in the post, esp as those fricking DVLA clowns just put in in 1st class post, not recorded, nothing

so that would mean things ive only got 1 copy of, like the fricking export certificate etc, gone for ever.

BAD NEWS

Just got off the phone with 2 toyota parts departments.

The rear screen? NONE available, discontinued and all stock gone.

And that was looking on the Jap system.
