I dont think its inlet gaskets if you've sprayed WD40 at them and it made no difference.

Im curious, how specifically do you know it's cylinder 6 that's not working?

Pull the plug off no.6 and the engine behaves the same, put it back on and a slight improvement can be seen, pulling plugs off all the other cylinder makes a extreme difference, so defo no.6.

If you've sprayed stuff on it and it has made no difference, then sadly its got to be the wiring to fault, as we know the circuit for the injectors is a ground loop with is triggered back to earth via the ecu, maybe a bad ECU earth, as they are several.

Other then that its not a break in the wire, as we have tested all the wiring for breaks, the injector clicks but without special equipment i can't tell you the pulse width or if the voltage is tailing off, i mean i can bring the oscilloscope down and we can look at it detailed and i can tell you if its producing the wrong square wave signal. if its a saw tooth, it can cause problems,.

I did the WD thing, but TBH thats not fool proof, because as we know, its nigh on fricking impossible to get it underneath the inlet properly due to all the gayness idle speed stuff, so sure could miss a bit.

And deffo no6, we not talking a miss under load here, we are talking no6 not working even at idle.

It's got to be wiring i reckon.
You could...... get a wiring diagram and make up some lenghts of wire and splice them into the loom so as to bypass each lenght of the original loom that runs to the ignition and fuel side of the faulty cylinder/circuit.

This is what we said we would do if everything else fails... i would sooner put the car on a proper tester, i mean if stavros you take it too a tuner they can pick the trigers up and tell you the pulse width, and if its firing at the right point.

There is alot of things we can do, but i always try to hold of striping looms back until the very last thing.. we did all the basic tests on the loom and it would seem its ok.

If it were my car, I'd take it down to Weston Performance in Solihull and get Greg to put it on the rollers to do a dyno diagnostic

He's also on here, username Big Silly

Hope you get it sorted asap Stav

Doz- Mate, I wish, i really do, it had one, the fact it had an RB was the only thing that made me hesitate about buying it. But I thought "oh, its ok, it will be fine" WRONG! lol.

Ant- It drives, but only slowly, soon as it tries to boost you fricked, and running for a long time on 5 cant be good for it I guess.
Its deffo not in a state id want to drive anywhere much, itd be trailer time.

Thanks again to Clarkey and Ant, they did a mint job of checking shit I had no idea about

Some GOOD news is my new rear window is in the UK, thanks to Storm Chaser on here Should be fitted next week
New window would normally mean id be off down SJS for the badass graphics, but the bloody thing dont run right, so i cant

Ill go get the tyres fitted to the rims tomorrow at least

IF I wasnt so desperate to get out there drifting id whip the engine out, sell it for the big dollar RB26s go for, and give the car to someone along with my spare 351W block and heads, along with the turbo kit and front hump sump to make it all fit, ready for the "proper" engine.
But thatd mean its off the road for a few months, which is exactly what I dont want to happen to this car, exp over xmas and new year!

fricking fricks

I can't see it being an electrical fault now reading the last posts..

It does however sound like an air leak and I'd go down that route to try 'n fix it.

Dude, you will love it when she is working, dont lose the faith!

Dont get me wrong mate, I love the car to bits, love JZX81s and plan to keep it for years.

Its just the RB26 i hate!

I got up early today to get to work on the car, and lo and behold, its fricking chucking it down outside

maybe stupid idea. check all the inlet channels (right word?) from inlet manifold to engine to see if one of them gets warm.

Right, one bit of good news is I now have a rear screen

Massive thanks to StormChaser on here for sorting it

He even came down (on his day off ) to help out and generally check it out

And he came down in his foooooookin awesome JZX100 too

Pics...

Winderscreen man pulling the remains of old window out...

Temp windscreen can go now...

All bare and ready for new screen...

Them both carefully placing new screen on...

Sealing it all up nicely...

And its done!

Really really nice job, looks mint, love it

Also, his badass JZX100

Cheers again mate, mega appreciate it

NOW i just need to get it running on all 6 cyls

Somehow

Before I get it on a trailer and send it to Paul at Jap Imports - Specialising in importing of Japanese Performance Motorcars I best whip the cam covers off to make sure the cams are actually opening all of number 6s valves!
Thing is, even that isnt easy as the engine is SO rammed in to the JZX81 bay (somehow 1JZs are lots shorter!) its not eay to get the cam covers off at the back, lol.

Yeah, it sucks ball
Im not giving up tho, im really attatched to this car, only a drifty spec 3door Cossie with decent power would tempt me away, and that just wouldnt happen.
The plan is to keep this car for a long long time, longer than the 3 years i had my old cossie, and once these gay problems are sorted and bits are replaced it will be fine in the future, just shame its not now!

Got this one as it was a cool car, and proven it can drift well, and available at the right time at the right price, JZX81s dont really come up that often do they

Ive never liked RB26s, they expensive to fix, and always got niggly gay problems that make them bugger up, as well as bigger things that make them bugger up!

Once the stock twins are in the bin, and the stock 6TB inlet is in the bin, and the stock loom is in the bin, ill feel a lot more at ease.
Esp if it had a fresh bottomend with decent oil pump and pump drive too.
But all of that takes time and dolla

If only this shit didnt happen idve done 2-3 practice days by now, the graphics and rims would be on, prob the seats too, and it might even have a rollcage.
But instead, its a load of 5cyl shit
