Reckon that raised bonnet actually helps with cooling? I'm sure it was Steve Carter did a test and found it had the adverse effect, looking for an image on the net that I found ages ago for a uni project that showed it but this kinda does:

Shows its actually high pressure at the base of the screen so won't actually let the air escape?

cheers

Just read back through the latest posts..

Yeh raised rear edges on bonnets do not serve to speed up exiting airflow. Adding a small vertical gurney flap along the rear edge of the raised bonnet will though

No no, just whoever owned it before has fitted different colour lights in each bit, so side lights are whitey green, the next lights in are bluey, the middle lights are yellow, and then they change again on full beam, but i forget which.

Got the tyres on the Rotas at last!

Rears went on ok, maybe need slightly more flare, but its ok.

But I cant get fronts on

Looks like they will physically fit no bother, but the holes on the rear of the wheels wont clear the bolts on the spacers that were on the front

I cant even try and see how they are without the spacers as I cant get em off, see here-
How hell you remove front bolt-on spacers?

The rears look good tho!

17s are back on for now

Oh modded cars are great arnt they...

Just been out caning around and when slowed back down i got a waft of stinky transmission fluid from the gearstick area and a lil bit of smoke.
On closer inspection now im home gearbox oil is actually coming in to the car
Didnt think it was at enough pressure to manage that, but looks like i best look at that now

Also have a strange rattle from the rear drivers side since about half way home from JDM. Its a plasticy rattle rather than a thump, and tho it happens on rough surfaces, it dont actualy happen in time with the bump, so i dont think its suspension probs, i think its summat else.
Cant work out what tho! Maybe its the orig handbrake cable or summat?

Bastard cars!

If I can make it work right then maybe

This I expect is the cause of the tranny fluid leak/stink...

Thats the rubber boot that sits on the base of the gearstick, its fricked.

There about 5 more holes in it than that too, gotta work out how to get one of them now too, i "think" its a RB20 box, do they share that boot with CA18 or SR20 boxes?

The smell isnt great, but its actually coming in to the car in smoke and liquid form, which isnt ideal!

Ive went nuts with the superglue on the current one, hopefully it will work while I find an SR20 one...

RB20 and RB26 are the same, cost about £7 from Nissan and have always ben in stock when we've ordered them.

I had mine go on the GTR, didn't look damaged but used to make the inside of the car stink and occasionally, (mostly on long, fast mortorway trips), there would be faint clouds of smoking coming up through it! Changed the GTS one just for the sake of it.

Alex B

Edit, we've got a new one at work waiting to go on dads GTR, I can get the part number off it monday if you haven't sorted it by then.
