Quite a productive day, woo. The car now drives with the hooj rims without rubbing even on full lock ![]() Cut off a LOT of fibreglass and hammered in a lot of metal, and in "normal" road driving at least it doesnt rub at all, even sideways out of junctions etc. Also sorted the clonking rear end, was simply the nut on one of the top mounts had came loose. Looked tight, was hand tight, but was loose as frick with a ratchet. Put new wipers on too as old ones were fricked, thats made driving nicer, lol. Providing some harder driving dont cause any big issues (too busy at mo, ill try sunday) then its Santapod on Wed for DWYB so i can finally get some poor attempts at drifting in, lol.

Wish i could get on with mine, but being stuck in Afghan isnt really helping!! ![]() Hopefully see you at BDC next year with the Cresta! |

Mate, your Cresta is properly badass, and with your job its to be expected it'l take a while to get stuff done! At least when you back you got summat badass to come back to ![]() Didnt get any testing done sunday due to having to go to some shite car show for work, then sex. Decided I best change the oil, but tho ive changed the filter (FRAM Honda one seems to fit, its a HKS remote filter kit), rain stopped play before I could drop the oil, so that will have to wait till tomorrow. Filter was properly properly filthy inside tho, like someone had filled it with fine grainy mud ![]() Guess the "service" it got before it was sent to me was oil (that was clean as a whistle when it came here) but not filter... ![]() Wanna go to the pod on wed, but to me feels like brakes and clutch needs bleeding (feel bit spongey n low) and ideally need to flare the rear arches a little to help clearance, an frick knows how im gonna have time to do all that on my own 2moro... ![]()

Stavros and Bonbon....Let me introduce myself haha My name is Troy and i am one of about 3 dedicated X80 chassis drifters in Australia. I have a 1992 Cressida Grande 1jz with a Mark 2 front. Every suspension component on the car has been modified by me personally except for the coilovers, so i've done a fair whack of research into what works best for me. Do you guys want to swap alignment settings and what suspension works for you so we can all become more competitive?...I only ask this as i know we will never battle each other so it wont hurt our competitiveness heh. By the way bonbon...those youtube videos of you are FU$KING AWESOME...enjoyed the video of your big beast dominating that dirty datsun. Sorry to thread jack stavros, but this is my beasty...both your guys cars are actually respectible looking, mine is a pig with only 3 doors and the roof still without dents! ![]() Ive done some work for lock too.. ![]()

Cressyslider Dont worry about the threadjack mate, appreciate it Aine isnt half as respectable in real life as it looks in pics, trust me, its properly shonky, tho not as battle scarred as yours yet And yeah, as they so rare here im sure Bon wont mind sharing info, and ill appreciate anything I can get! Im not 100% whats been done to mine as some things it was meant to have, it hasnt, and some things not mentioned when i bought it, it has. Certainly hasnt got adjustable arms, but some look like they may have been cut n welded to mod the geometry, dunno. Here is my full lock... ![]() ![]() And Royal/Jord, the clutch thing is a very fricking good reason i may not be able to go, travelling two hours to santapoo and then having no clutch within 10mins dont sound like my idea of fun... ![]() Last edited by Stavros : 11-03-2008 at 13:29.

Stavros, if you really want to go but are concerned about the brakes, if you're desperate you could always swing by my house in milton keynes tomorrow morning and I can give you a hand bleeding stuff. I've got the day off work as I'm getting the Roadster ready to take over to Garagemac

No worries. It'll be an 'out in the carpark with a jack, some axle stands, and a bit of pipe' type affair, so it might be a bit wet and rainy but better than nothing. I've got some dot5.1 fluid kicking about somewhere. Been open a while but I'm sure it'd be ok. Obviously if it's something a bit more terminal, like your slave cylinder or whatever, then I'm afraid I can't help there.

Mine's done that a couple of times. suddenly felt really low and the bite point dropped to the floor. Looked in the resevoir and it's completely empty. Top it up and it lasts for ages and ages. Could be that it's a slow leak or something and it feels ok until it dries up. Could you not go to halfords or something and get some fluid to top it up today. Should at least give a bit of feel back. Then if it's not dropped off significantly by tomorrow then you can say it's probably just one of theose freak occurrences.

Ive done that mate, topped it up days ago and driven on it a fair bit since, but its still not right (prob just sucked in air, so needs bleeding), and bit worried some proper abuse (i mean ive been razzing the living shit out of it, just not drifting as such) will just make pedal it the ground, as the more you cane it the worse it feels to the point where it starts not liking to change gear.

Right then, update... Took it to DWYB last wed, and the car was MINT. Im sure it wasnt my "skills" that was doing it, as I dont really have any, but the car was fricking fantastic and I was doing better than I thought I would by a mile. Not amazing, but way way better than expected, sooo controllable. Transitioning is SO easy in this car, no idea why, and its got a fricking ton of lock too it seems. Its got very odd gearing though, as it has lots of low down power and also revs high, so got a big power band, and combine that with the Skyline gearbox ratios and Chaser rear diff ratio, its given it stupidly long gears, 1st seems longer than 2nd in most cars, but it works fine, even if your oddly a gear down in he first couple of gears. Nothing much broke, tho it deffo needs an oil cooler, and needed the arches modding more as they rubbed with the 18s once going really fast, and the hydro wand needs bleeding so was having to shift lock it instead, which tho more satisfying, is a frick load harder to get right consistantly. Cars got a LOT less paint than it did have tho, as bumpers were flying off all over the shop, but I dont care. Its a drift car. Since then ive not done much, paid for the next DWYB, sorted the tyres out (got plenty of spares so just had to get 6 of em changed over), etc, but today as we all of work, I did some shit... I lost, somehow, the rear plate at DWYB, so ive decided to see how long I can get away with my moody JDM-tyte, yo, ones, as they look mint, even tho highly illegal. Can see in the front pics a distinct lack of paint too, lol. ![]() ![]() Also, to make me so JDM Tyte my cock nearly fell off, I dug this out the draw I bought for someone from Tokyo, and added it to the tow hook, Boso-style.And for extra super duper JDM bummer scene points, its not just from Japan, I bought that in Harajuku, the land of birds dressed in ways that you are not sure is either sane or legal... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Also, to make more room for the wheels, I trimmed the front arches RIGHT to the lip, and hammered back the inners loads, then flared the rears a bit more, which you should be able to see here. I could do some more, I prob should do some more, but its ok for now... ![]() And finally, heres one for BonBon, Cressyslider, and maybe Sid. Pics of my rear end. Is this a JZX81 rear end? Old Rick claimed it was a JZX100 rear end, but he claimed a lot of things that wasnt true! ![]() ![]() Got a few more pics of the rear end if it helps identify it. And, err, thats it. Dunno how much the car will get used over the weekend, Easter holidays is as good for going out on the smash as it is caning round in cars...
