Cool man, shall we just believe Ricks lies and pretend we all got 100 rear ends? lol. Ive no idea what the difference is anyhow, and seeing as the rear end in the pics is clearly a shithot multilink setup anyhow, who gives a frick, its mint ![]()

for fricks sake... anyone localish got a spare wheel nut that fits with Rotas? The ones the car came with are like 20.5mm socket and are slightly too thick to use. i got my mate to do ONE wheel up, and i went for a drive and found they were loose as frick and one is cross threaded ![]() dont think its mashed the stud, just the nut, but if i cant find another stud i cant use the car 2moro and monday, which is what ive been looking forward to ![]()

| DRIFT*DIVISION | Lol, i let my mate put on a wheel for me once, he put the nuts on backwards so the tapered end was facing outwards! I told him to do up em with the torque wrench, while is was gone, i came back, he looked proper confused, told me the wheel was breaking..... ![]() .....the flat face of the nut was ripping the tapered alloy out! I wasnt happy ![]() ![]() I only let one of my mates help with the car nowdays, some people just dont have a clue haha ![]() |

I give up with trying to use standard nuts on the rota's. They were impossible to get a socket over that wasnt a hand wrench job which like yours didnt stay tight for long and scratched the paint work to shit! Internal drive nuts mate. Anything else is just a ball ache with GTR's.

I take it its too dodgy to drive it with 4? Worst thing is he is an ex-RAF mechanic, but is for ever rounding shit off etc! I think as he used to everything being massive and super strong, he takes no care ![]() Kev- With the nuts supplied and a 19mm socket its not too bad, but anything else is way too big. frick knows where im gonna get another nut tomorro tho, i wanna drive the fricking car! ![]() Guess im jus gonna have to get sooo destroyed tonight im in no fit state to drive until its time to go out again tomorrow night, and by then its too late. Otherwise im gonna be well fricked off I cant use it ![]() 1st time driving it with the moody Jap plates too, frick me it gets some attention, in the petrol station alone i had 3 different sets of people ask about the car, lol.

Definately an X80 rear end. If it started life out with a 1j in it, the axles will be slightly thicker than a gx81 or mx83. The disks should also be ventilated and larger than my non ventilated tea cup plates. It baffles me as to why toyota thought they needed thicker axles, they're stupid thick on mx83s anyway! I cant believe how standard your rear end is, even the rear bar is standard...they're a great design until you get really low...it is probably actually beneficial to run our cars at a higher ride height than we do...though it wouldnt be JDM tyte y0. If you think it transitions awesome now mate, put a bigger rear bar in. Tezuka used to run something like a 24mm largus on the rear! I think they might have been hollow though. A guy i know in oz bought a beautiful kids heart mark2 that was owned by a mate of tez and was setup by tez...he recons that in the 150+km/h entries into turn 1 at mallala the first time driving the car, it felt even more controllable than an s13, you could just keep dialling in the steering and it was solid as a rock. He put all this down to the rediculous sized bars. Im planning on recessing the cradle into the body at least 50mm to get the geometry closer to standard ride height, should be fun.... Pic of rear end after i made my solid alloy mounts and my adj arms...still need to make the 'traction arms'...can pull positive camber heh ![]()

Matt- Yeah thats the place, its like clolthes shopping heaven there, tho i liked it just as much for the thousands of scantily clad birds, which were even more widespread than the rest of Tokyo, lol. Cressy- Deffo JZX originally according to the chassis number There a company in Oz that makes thicker ARBs for 81s i think? Are arms available or need to get em custom made like yours?Your arms look fantastic ![]()

Stav - KMAC and whiteline in oz both make bars. on the Toyota Cressida Forums - Powered by vBulletin they were organising a group buy from kmac which turned into an abortion i think lol. There's probably someone on there who can point you in the right direction. They'll make any thickness bar you like if you can get around the bs kmac cause you! Mine is the thickest off the shelf one they do and ive snapped 2 of those plastic sway links by not lowering the car down squarely after having it jacked up. If you're careful it wont happen. Any thicker than mine (18 or 20mm or something) and you'll want to strengthen the mount on the control arm, as well as look towards a steel sway link. There would be something out there to do the job. Just a tip for your front bar. I fitted a 28 or 30mm kmac bar to the front which is much much stiffer than stock. Using the standard links that bolt between the bar and the top of the strut, (which im told makes for a more responsive bar) when heading towards full lock, this link would twist as the steering turned, which would load up the sway bar and actually pull the car onto full lock and hold it there!! I struggled with the car like this for about 2 years simply because i didnt figure out why the steering wouldnt self centre. I even had one of the top 10 drifters in australia unable to do controlled donuts in the car haha...made me feel good at least because i had managed to drive it! Watch this vid, as i go into the second right hander i have to forcefully flick the wheel, it wont do it itself. (this was years ago btw...i have improved )MySpaceTV Videos: Troy in his cressida @ winton raceway by DRIFTJUNKIE PRODUCTIONS Now with the sway pickup off the lower control arm, along with 11deg of castor its much easier. As for adjustable arms, keep an eye on yahoo jp auctions and look at T3 in the states, they were talking about it. I would love to make all diehard X80 people arms and things but 1)They're not my machines to make money from and 2)I make enough parts at work and need a break when i come home lol Keep it fast, wide and low ![]() Last edited by Cressyslider : 23-03-2008 at 22:27.

Brilliant info mate, really appreciate it as there frick all info here! I didnt know Whiteline did any, that may be good news as I know the guys at Whiteline UK. Would DEFFO be good to stiffen the car with the ARBs are the Bilsteins on it arnt that hard and are non-adjustable, so thats a good other option. At mo the cars got great self centering, tho again the front looks stock to me, unless the arms have been cut n welded for more castor, and wouldnt want to lose that! As an alternative to longer lower arms, i think i might fit slightly bigger front spacers and run more camber, as im still having the inner arch clearance probs and its the chassis rail in the way now, so im fricked there regardless of how much i hammer! Its all learning, but its all good fun ![]()

Just so I dont do something retarded... MX83 Cressida suspension parts all fit JZX81s, right? Ie uprated ARBs, adjustable arms, etc etc? (MX83 Cressidas are even less heard of over here than JZX81s, so forgive my stupidness...)
