SHoulda just left a 1j in it....they fkn last forever. My mate and i always bag nissans (dirty datsuns) at track days, we recon SR20s with screamers sound like tractors haha. Pulled my 1j oil pump apart, my engine would probably be 220,000km old now. Not a sign of wear, apart from 1 tiny scratch where a piece of foreign matter made it through. The whole lot is STEEL too, not some cast crap! Get a NISMO oil pump for an RB26 and all it achieve is to pump a whole lot of oil into the head and into the catch can. I doubt you can even buy an uprated toyota oil pump as its not needed

as for why the rb26 over the 1jz, I know I personally would have
the rb26 or 2jz not 1jz (and for all you hater's I have had both so I can say that!)

If you know what your doing with the 26 you have no probs.

I agree Greg at Weston mapped my GTR compete stock engine including gaskets and cams only intectors, PFC, O and a GT35R and it maxed 574.5bhp at 1.5bar but i still wouldnt mind a 2jz
