Im sure I wont either, but loads of people (on here and other places, all have no doubt never tried and just going on internet chitchat) reckoned otherwise.

But ive spoke to a few people who have used em for drifting and all have said they mint. And when warmed up 235 slicks are grippier than 285 88s and similar.

The delamination thing is bollocks too, meant to nowhere near as much as normal tyres it seems.

Only thing anyone said was when they finally pop if they on the back (which takes a while), they properly explode and take your rear quarters off, lol.

It was either the language, or the fact my brother is deranged.

Me n Bon have been breaking a shitbox 2litre n/a auto GX81 for spares at mo (see this thread- Bon and Stavs Iachi Ichi Chaser 1800bhp V12 twin turbo), and one of the things in it was a pretty mint set of Chaser service books and manuals.

Near the front its got a massive comedy section of what NOT to do with your 81 Chaser.

This one cracked me up...

Ie dont modify your chaser with spoilers, wide low offset wheels, etc etc

BUT then in the back, what does it have for sale, direct from Toyota? Yup, spoilers and dishy BBS wheels!

I can only presume it says starting at 6x15 as no way the nice ones on the left are.

Heard from a few top aussie drifters that they didnt like slicks on the front, even complained that semis can be too grippy. Its all about slip angle i think, ie; makes propper 4 wheel slide harder or some such.
You might find you like them, im only posting what i heard.
The good thing about used slicks is that they can often be had dirt cheap.

The stupid gimp in aus that drifts basically a V8 supercar (aussie touring car) monaro with about 800hp was using wet slicks last time he won a round though....They didnt last too long though!

My beast is in a million bits, ive bought a shiteload of composite supplies, got at least 10mtrs of carbon, and im planning on bringing it back looking something like a DTM AMG with the big carbon guards and numerous spoilers, canards, splitters and difussers that i have no need for...nor do i know how they work. Should look cool but

Keep up the cool street sliding stories, my mate just obliterated his R31 and will miss the next round due to tree/guard rail lol.

Man that will look MINT!

DTM cars are some of the best looking cars ever for me. Went to Essen Motorshow in Germany about 6 months ago and it was hard to drag me away from the DTM cars, The Audi especially looks immense...

I saw some of the poor excuses you guys have in the UK ie;"Lets fit stickers on our brand new 206 monthly" etc etc lol

I got to see the last DTM on tv at eurospeedway actually...think i was in vienna at the time. GF got pissed off cuz we had to go and i couldnt be dragged away....

Right, been busy today...

Take one GX81 bonnet, and draw on it with a marker pen

Then get one bonnet vent thing on ebay and cut the vent holes out

Then get a big disk cutter and chop a massive hole in the bonnet

Then get the rivet gun out and you end up with this

Then to celebrate it did a shitload of coke

Or maybe thats fibreglass dust. Maybe

Still need to tidy it up, paint it, shit like that. But it will do for now

Been fixing my smashed up bodykit too, but forgot to take pics

Oh, and found a couple of pics of my car from Japfest the other week

TBH it was fine with half the amount of rivets mate, as it sat lovely and flat suprisingly, but i thought frick it, and did more, till i ran out of rivets and gave up.

Small update just to say the bumper I got off Bon, his old one, looks SHIT on my car

Seriously, just dont suit it at all, gutted really, as unlike the current one, it fits ok, lol.

So im gonna have to chop the shit out the current one to make it fit right, as well as repair it.

Paint needs to seriously be sorted too...

Whole of bonnet, boot, and front and rear bumpers need painting due to massive repairs or mods, 3 of the wheels are kerbed, both rear arches have crap paint due to me flaring them loads, one rear door has massive tyre delam paint damage, entire cars paint is scratched a bit and pretty crappy and orange peely and runny anyhow.

So as spangly as it is, a full respray is probably easier than getting the car fully metalflake purpled again.
frick, only birds really like metalflake purple, and an ugly ass car like a JZX81 isnt exactly a bird puller is it, lol...

Pics of bons old bumper on it? Trying to remember when it was Sammys, thought his bumper was ok.

Id agree with the purple too fella, if it was still tidy then it looks smart enough to not rush out and change but if you choose sparkly purple yourself...lol

Nah, not got a pic, but it just looks shit.

Its pretty much the same bumper Bon has on his car at mo, and looks great on his, but looks shit on mine, so sticking with the one I got.

And the paint is deffo going I think, need to paint 2 bumpers, boot, and bonnet, not to mention the rest of the paint is shit, so cant be fricked painting the rest purple.

Nearly finished fixing the bumpers now though, at last. Not mint, but in 1 piece at least.

On a better note, the 351W block I have lying around turns out to be a rare and rather strong 1969 block which can take really really silly power and love it. And fully forged 6.8 litre stroker kits cost 700notes. Hmm...

Just worked out the gearing on my car.

Thanks to the JZX81 rear diff and GTS-T gearbox, the car only needs to pull 7800 in top (easy for a RB26 with half decent power) on 265/35x18 (Size Bon runs on the back) to hit 200mph.

Mint.

Other good news, my spoilers have arrived today I hear
