| Smallish update, as im mind numbingly bored today. I lost the rear panel under drivers side rear light when my back bumper exploded at big speed, and due to it being a 18yr old car and one of I think four JZX81s in the UK and one of I think three with a Mark2 rear end, I thought my odds of Toyota getting me one was slim. But they did! And within a few days too, nice work. BIG thanks to Cookwibble as he found me the part number, which no doubt made life a LOT easier. ![]() Aside from that, my new S2000 I should have up for sale soonish means possibly 10-15k in my pocket, and that means the Chaser can be, by all intents and purposes, finished in one go. Not sure exactly what id do, but I can afford to do it I think. Which is nice. |

Oh, and just realised my turbo isnt a HX40 afterall, its a fookin HX55! ![]() Looky at the ID tag on a turbo identical to mine (mine has no ID tag) hx55.jpg (image) |

| Well i've measured the inducer diameter mate, its about the same as a GT4088, just with a MUCH bigger exducer, so thought itd be capable of similar, but nope, the extra efficiency of the Holset means its meant to be more like 900bhp+ But this one got the small 16cm exhaust side and everything, so will spool up easy anyhow. Mint. Unless you got summat properly amazing, and brand new like this, id never swap it, its badass. Only reason I wouldnt use it is if i do something I sort of have in mind, but prob wont do, depends how much money I get for my S2000.... |

| LOL that turbo fitted would be mental ![]() Thinking about transmission coolers, is tapping the gearbox casing and installing an appropriate temperature switch an option? It would just come on when needed then ![]() Plus, i cant seem to find anything about what temperature is optimum for gearbox oils. I suppose it depends on the oil viscosity. I'll drop the oil guy a PM on SXOC. |

| Its BACK! And it has a cage! And a rear bumper and under bumper trim bit! Woooo, etc. How the outside currently looks with Bons old bumper, and a new trim bit under the rear light... ![]() ![]() ![]() But more importantly, how the inside now looks (ie badly needing paint and tidying!) The front- ![]() The back- ![]() Lovely X door bars- ![]() The rear section- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Front bit- ![]() Box section- ![]() next job now is Rear strut brace- ![]() Probably my fave bit, incase you needing reminding how badass it is- ![]() More proof if you need it- ![]() There also bar behind the dash too, but obv cant see that. Quality is fricking fantastic, proper welds, and 360deg too, unlike most shonky rollcages ive seen. Didnt expect it, but chassis must be SO much stiffer now as it feels like the suspensions twice as hard now, feel every lil bump in the road. Even with the mental doorbars, getting in and out isnt too bad, as im used to mad cages anyhow. Couldnt be more chuffed- Andy Robinson Race Cars - roll cages, complete chassis, fabrication, setup, race car engineering ![]() Next job now is paint the cage and the intrior as a whole, and get the back bumper the right colour... |

The rear strutbrace bar is perfect for the harnesses, ideal height and distance. Easy to move their position, no biggie, jus not done it yet. Last edited by Stavros : 31-08-2008 at 11:45. | |

| I got all the bits to fit the hooj turbo and the fuel sys to go with it too. To me the car feels deathly slow as it is, even tho its gonna be about 400horse. So it needs the power urgently. Thing is, I need to paint the cage and interior, tidy the dash up, paint the outside, etc etc etc, loadsa shit. And all my money first needs to go on getting the S2000 mint and sold, then ill have shitloads to blow on the Chaser then. |
