Ryan- Yeah, been discussing it on another forum, and getting a new flange made (ie drawing what i need and getting it cut) shouldnt cost much at all (soon as i find someone local who can do it), and I need the manifold welded anyhow as need a different flange at the wastegate end, so no biggie.

Small Hosets are, but mines fricking MASSIVE mateLike properly huge.

Most the big ones are T4 flange, and mine is, but oddly the bolt spacing on mine is different. Most are fine tho...

Spent a lot of today out buying bits and bobs and modifying the manifold to fit the turbo.

And now it does.

Turbo. Massive as frick.

Think I might have to modify the bonnet as the turbo is so big. As a size comparison, the dog is about as big as a Labrador, much bigger than a Staffie.

Mint.

What power you reckon you gonna be running. The "scania" casting on the housing makes me laugh everytime i see pictures of it.

Dunno, and not fussed, as long as it scares the shit out of me in a straight line, its enough power, if it doesnt, its not.

RB26s with stock internals and GT35s seem to get about 575bhp@1.5bar

Mine has cams and a bigger turbo.

Now I'm not the most knowledgeable about turbos and I'll openly admit it, but isn't something that big going to be laggy as frick?

no not really, the holsets are alot more efficent than most of the garretts and the rb26 seems to be able to spin up big turbos ok

a bit, but less than the trust t78s and t88s people often run, as though they strong as bastards, they not great at spooling.
BUT even they are acceptable on a RB26, drive ok as long as you rev em.

though it looks the size of the earth, it has a compressor inducer about as big as a gt4088, and an exducer about as big as a gt42 (iirc, measured it ages ago- they run big exducers to be efficient at 3bar+ unlike most turbos), so it shouldnt be too horrendous, esp as Holsets have some strange ability to spool up out of nothing.

and with a stock rev limit of 8250rpm, the engine likes to rev anyhow.

simple fact is i want the car to be fast enough to scare me above anything else, so though im sure their slightly swankier ways to do it, this is cheap as frick and i bet will perform better than MOST the conversions most mugs pay 10 times the cash for. and im poor.

im doing it to make a scary stupid mental car, not to achieve anything in particular barring entertainment, job done.

and now I can have a "Powered by SCANIA" badge on the back and not be lying, lol.
