I know what your saying Sam, I loved the look of it in person but from the pics it looks a little bit stuck on because I didn't realise the tape sagged a bit. Its the same spoiler as this though so should look hot when fitted - ![]() ![]() Have faith! I think I'm going to delete the boot lock too...smoooooth. Joe - I have a pair of clear lenses but I am keeping them for MOT/road use etc. Wouldn't think they are that hard to source? PS - I love those all red lenses....hmmmmm?! |

Once I've tackled tubbing the rear arches and fitted the rear overs, skirts and rear bumper it will be going for paint and MOT. I've got a few little fiddly bits to do before then too like fitting some harness mounting points, securing the new passenger recliner, refitting the A/C unit and finding somewhere for the interior pull handle and kill switch.

Theres no teasing! I have had literally 1 night so far this week to work on the car. I wanted to get all parts test fitted this week but Bacon Flu has entered our home so I've been otherwise engaged! I work 8:30-6pm [7pm some nights] at LEAST 5 days a week, most weekends and the workshop I use is only available in the evenings after 6pm so I'm not exactly time-rich! Every evening's work also involves moving the car in and out of the workshop [so whatever job I start one evening has to be finished the same evening] and tidying the workshop and tools away so it doesn't look like I've been there! That said I hope to get a couple of hours tonight to trim the lips off the overfenders and test fit - at least one side! |

I've just been doing some sums regarding front tyres. I currently use 225/45 R17 Falken 452's but they've always been a bit balooney for my liking so I'm keen to find an alternative. Two options I'm exploring are either 225/35 R17 Falken 452's OR 235/40 R17 452's. Does anyone use a 235 on the front of an S13? The 225/35 would gain me 45mm in total clearance around the wheel, which is good, and would lower the car by an approx 23mm which is also good and would gain me 23mm at the top of the wheel also [which I'll defeat the object of by lowering it more to get rid of arch gap ].The 235/40 would gain me 15mm in total clearance around the wheel, would lower the car by just 7mm approx and would gain me 7mm where the tyre meets the fender too. BUT the 235 is wider and would offer marginally more grip. Downside is I'd have to run wider than 225 tyres at the back [I currently use 225/235/245] and there would be less strecth which doesn't help with clearance. I'm swaying heavily towards trying the 225/35 but not many people use this size it seems? |

235/35 on a 17 would look like a tyre does on a 19" wheel. personally the reason i have gone with a 45 profile on mine is because i can lower the car, yet the difference in side wall rasies the car higher of the floor (if that makes sense) i tried a 40 profile before and at the ride height i currently have was catching speed bumps, yet with a 45 on i didnt. but on ther other hand wouldnt a 235/30 17 cost more that a 235/45 as not many people run them in that size?

You've got your sizes confused mate, I'm looking at 225/35 which are about £70 each from Camskill - the same price as the 225/45. The only person I know running them is Andy_f on the front of his S13 and he said the only problem with them is they can make the wheel look small because of the low profile - but they are good because theres no sidewall flex and they give so much more clearance! I see what your saying though about height - because although they bring the chassis closer to the ground you then have to lower the chassis further to bring the wheel arch gap down. The reason I'm thinking about changing is my current 18s with 235/40 are catching the arch lips [which admittedly I plan to thin out a bit still] - when I use the 17"s on the front with a 225/45 that will only actually be 11mm smaller over the diameter so will only gain me 5mm-ish at the lip - i.e it'll still catch. Guess the only way to find out is to chuck some tyres on a pair of the DNA's and try them with spacers. |

I'll be using 9.5J up front so the picture wouldn't be relevant I don't think. Thanks anyhoooow. I got one of the overfenders test fitted tonight. I spent about 10 minutes trimming the HUGE lip down on it, the about 2 hours working out how to remove the rear valance [bonded on you BASTARD] and the standard rear bumper [two of the bolts on each side are well hidden!]. Then about 30 mins lining it up and drilling my lovely car Oh well, looks wide now! Other side and sideskirts over the weekend I hope if I get time! Then all the scary cutting of metal underneath.![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Notice the way the overs cover right down and under the still at the bottom? They fit PERFECT! Yeh, the copy ones that have recently been produced don't do that - they randomly stop just below the body-line. Crap. Whats the consensus on the stock rear bumper bar? That shit weighs a TON. Do people re-use it or just bolt the FRP bumper in place? |
