A great deal has been happening around here lately including the opening of a Driving Sports office in North America in 2008 where will be distributing for RYO, Works9, Supermade, Okuyama, etc..Obviously marketing is a big part of the game so we decided to team up with RYO to campaign a car in Formula D for 2008. Originally we were planning on running an ex Time Attack R32 built by Sun Line Racing and modified for drift use then Works9 came on board and it changed our plans a bit. We need the car to be running display of all the parts we will have available and when one of your title sponsors doesn't make a kit for the R32 it shakes plans up a bit. One of the major attractions of the R32 was the fact that it would be the only one (that we know of) running in Formula D next season. So for us the next best choice was an S15. After the decision was made we immediately went out and picked up an S15 Spec S as all we really needed was the frame and there was no sense in forking out Spec R money. The suspension will be coming from RYO, Supermade, and Okuyama and the aero will obviously be from Works9 with a Supermade rear and roof wing thrown into the mix. We'll also be running a D-Max bonnet. The motor is currently under construction and will be stroked up to 2.2L using Tomei parts. We'll be running our new turbo kit along with all the necessary supporting mods. For engine management we decided to stick with a Power FC D-Jetro. When all is said and done we should be making about 550HP. A standard mission wouldn't last a round so an HPI 6 speed dog mission will be thrown into the mix. Kawabata will be behind the wheel of course and our debut will be at Long Beach in April. The S15 might get to stretch it's legs before then at D1 depending on when their first round is. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

whats the deal on the rear arches rick? is that the inner folded up or is it metal "tabs" riveted on? Looks to be seam welded after? Interested as this is a job im about to do, on the 14 i simply grinded them apart, beat the hell out of them and welded

The Ueno-san method is to cut the fender line all the way around high enough to where you can separate the inner and outer ''skins''. Then he makes a bunch of vertical cuts separating the fender into ''tabbed'' sections. These are bent up and then riveted down. After that everything is sealed/puttied. There are a bunch of different ways to do it though. Kawabata likes to weld instead of riveting but this is probably the easiest method.
