Maybe... Just... Turn down the boost, just a touch? Maybe you don't QUITE need that much power? lol. I joined you in the "our car's are fricked" club, and I have only just placed the order for my replacement clutch lol. I have fixed my missfire, and nearly done my rear brakes, so should be alreet. Hopefully we won't be in the same club at round 2!

You bitchs!!! sabatage time i think ![]() Stripped the donor engine today, removed all the rings and cleaned the pistons and rings, then refitted the rings and removed the pistons from the rods. Took ages! ![]() Also got all the pistons out of the engine that died. this is the good pistons No wonder its been a bit smokey for the last year.![]() ![]() ![]() And the melted one Proper job![]() ![]() And the bore is in really good condition considering, little hone and itl be sweet. ![]()

Nice work, thought the bores should have more of a diagonal/criss-cross honing pattern after though rather than almost horizontal? Does it not matter too much? Just would have thought the rings would slightly skip over the ridges left by the honing on a microscopic level thus causing problems?

Bizzle, what you on about? standard block? of course, its the same engine as what went bang just some new pistons lol Mike, do you think it really matters with this engine lol + the honing tool i have is long, with the short stroke of the SR engine and with the piston oil jet in its near on imposable to do it. It was only a very light hone with a medium grit any way, just bore number one had a little bit more work.

Nice work, just out of interest they are 54c pistons, how do you think they will get on with the ceramic coating being removed ? Shame thats a nice case of det on that engine, nissan pistons are crap too soft, you going to lower the compression slightly to help out with combustion pressures ? clarkey ![]()

The 54c pistons are actualy the same as in the pulsar GTiR and they come cermicly coated out of the factory for det and heat protection. Thats why the Sr20 pistons always have dark tops ![]() | |

that was nice of you bizzle, at least u didnt call him a flange like usual haha so wat happens if u take all the ceramic coating off like EL DUMBASS has done ? just less protection on the top from det etc or wat ? also when u hoon the cylinders doesnt that make them bigger? so would u need bigger rings or pistons ? or is it so minimal that it wouldnt matter ?
