| Glad you asked ![]() When you seam weld a car... say like i did to mine, you have to burn out the seam sealant that is between the two panels, as its "metal - seam sealant - metal" layer by layer if that makes sense, if you weld it with the sealant in there, it makes a dirty weld and is not that strong and also there is a gap between the panel. as you can see in Steve's picture, now its dipped there is gaps between all the panels. he will have to dolly them (hammer) together so they are touching and then weld them, this will make a strong and clean weld. people that don't burn out the seam sealant first... well, shouldn't be doing it. if he seamed it first... when it was dipped and got it back ,he would have gaps every were in the shell.. and it wouldn't be so strong and water would rust the frick out of it ![]() I used to do rally prep when i was young, i know this for sure |

| because everytime you dip it it removes thickness from the shell.. i bet if he weighed it before and after it would now be lighter ![]() you would be crazy to dip it twice ! bet nothing would come back lol. To do it properly, you have the car Dipped, then once done sent back for primer and proxy sealent coat. Clarkey. |
