| big wig above bought it last yr for about £1800 I think. I bought it off him for £300 as he just wanted it out the way and I needed a runabout till I found what I was looking for. I sold it a couple of weeks later to someone from essex for £850 It had full cream leather, 18" lenso Mesh alloys and was sat on it's arse. There was no scorpion back box on it, was a std box with 2 scorpion DTM tips welded to it. Looks like it's changed hands a couple of times since I sold it back in july. | Little update, got the door card in, not essential drifty usage, but does tidy it up no end. ![]() Got the new handbrake cable joined up at the handle end, removed the rear wheel and discovered two of the wheel bolts are sheared, check the other rims and i've got four of the buggers missing!!! ![]() Didn't get as much planned as I would have liked because of arsey alarm fitters and a fricked immobiliser on the Skyline. Will have another crack at the Beemer tomorrow. Bloody things been nothing but sheared bolts!!! |

Andy, from what I can make out on mine, the front diff mount bolt sheared and when it has drive going through it, it kicks the front of the diff up towards the floor. Where the prop and diff connect (4 bolts) this part is basically trying to cut through the floor! I might just get some sheet metal from work and bolt a piece in for now.

Theres 4 studs/bolts that hold the whole rear subframe/diff carrier to the floor of the car, and in early cars they can be ripped out, taking the floor with it - leading to a costly repair bill or scrapping of the shell. BMW themselves do the 4 reinforcement plates for about 65 quid, and its quite a big job, as it requires dropping the rear subframe off and getting the fuel tank out. Drop me a PM and I can send you the part numbers and a link to a thread on e36coupe.co.uk that shows what needs doing, and I might be able to get some pics of mine as its up on the ramps at Chizfab at the moment.

Lol@the forgotten thread!!! Got thoroughly bored shitless of the other half watching frigging oylmpics all week, got sod all money to spend on the electrical wiper fault for the MOT to be done. Had a think about what else the car could do with that won't cost me anything, then EUREKA!!! On a veeeery quiet night shift, 'borrowed' the engineers workshop key to hunt for some goodies. Only thing I could find were a couple of old washers!!! ![]() Then today I got the car in the air, had a look at the rack and arms ![]() Undid said arm and blow me the washers fit quite nicely, a useful 4mm thick too!!! ![]() Put it all back together, and increased lock FTW!!! (need to get in all lined up now )![]() Get paid in a couple of days so a BMW techy guy can plug into the diagnostics to find out why the wipers have a mind of their own. Other than that, not really a lot of progress due to having frick all overtime at work, so no spare monies to play with ![]() Seriously thinking about trailering it to a Pod beginner day just to try and skid the damn thing!!! Also got a mate working something out for the bodywork/paint ![]()

You probably don't have any more lock though, since those washers are massive and look like they will foul the rack housing (hence not allowing any more travel). Ideally the rack spacer should be a little smaller than the rack itself. And spring washers aren't ideal as they can open up under load and move around slightly. Something like precision engineered Chizfab E36 lock spacers would have been much better! ![]()
