Ideally the rack spacer should be a little smaller than the rack itself.

And spring washers aren't ideal as they can open up under load and move around slightly. Something like precision engineered Chizfab E36 lock spacers would have been much better!

Bugger, think the cars got 5 series alloys on at the mo, correct in saying they give a bit more clearance? All comments welcome, lol, it's the only way I'll learn

Editted, just looked at sammysideways chizfab spacer pic, I know where I went wrong now, what a nobber!

5 series are et13 offset so you'll have a wider track.

Cool, cheers guys. Gonna have a chat with the toolmakers at work to see what they can come up with. I've heard 4mm is about as far as you want to go, this sound right?
