Project Bummerwaahhhh!!!!!

Finally got a new toy to play with in the shape of an E36 325 courtesy of a guy named Chris.

Came with no rear seats, knocking diff, blowing exhaust but the added bonus of 2 sets of rims

Here's some pics of the Bavarian beasty.

First port of call was to have a look at the diff, firstly remove back box section, discovered the blow!!!

First diff I've removed, amazed at how simple it was

Empty diff hole.

Discovered the knocking was coming from a sheared diff mounting bolt, I hate sheared bolts

Any advice concerning bimmers would be greatly appreciated

Cool purchase.

How will you fix the sheared bolt?

Forgot to add it's a 'mig spec' diff too.

Cheers bonster, by the way dude, R33 clutch all fitted and lurvely. Little stiffer but a damn sight better, thank you please!

Lightning, currently trying to get the remains of the bolt out, also thinking of a different approach than just replacing the shagged bolt. Maybe a piece of studding with a nut each end. Not sure yet, will ransack the engineering stores at work over the weekend.

Any know if this is likely to be a regular breakage on a welder?

Nope!

Drill a hole in the remains and use an extractor!

What you pay for it?

This is my mates old car, he sold it not that long ago, back then it had full cream leather, scorpion exhaust, cone filter, 18inch wheels, and a welded diff he bought from BonBon bizzarely enough.

Used to do a great job of shearing rear diff mounts back then too.

Although the car seems to have been down-specced since he sold it so might be totally different, I just text him and he said to say "check the handbrake cable, one side was attacked with an angle grinder so only one side works"

Unless its been totally fricked since my mate flogged it, 250 is well cheap!

Its a bit bubbly and tatty around the bodywork, but the running gear and engine was sweet.

Oh, it had a nice front splitter then too, looks like someones raped all the good bits off it.

Still a cheap as fook car if the engines still as sweet as it was!

Bon, I haven't got an extractor (put on shopping list)

Stav, it's still got the front leather seats and 3 door cards, no rear seat or passenger door trim. It had half a splitter but the rest was stomped off with my size 10's to get the bugger on the trailer. Did it have the lower springs when you saw it? No cone filter, but it did come with the 18" DTM rimages. And the backbox is the Scorpion item, gonna get it patched up for now.

As for the monies.............................£325 of your finest Engerlisch Queenie piccies!!!

Also came with a Pioneer CD face off unit!

D-aniel-l, Only a smattering of surface rust, nothing a wire brush can't sort out.

Yeah, was slammed in its ass when my mate had it too.

325 notes is a bargain.

Crazy how quickly the car went down in price, my mate bought it for 1800odd, think he sold it for somewhere around a grand i think, and that wasnt too long ago.

Diff back on, no knocking. Just wondering how much punishment it'll take before it goes again! Sounds awesome with no backbox on.
Exhaust currently getting patched up by my bro in law.

Stav, new handbrake cable ordered, chris did mention it but I forgot all about it, lol.

Just needs some bulbs replacing and then it's MOT time.
