Fairly substantial update!

I had a bad time at Lydden - after about an hour on track I realised I had lost most of the coolant. The cluprit was a split turbo coolant feed line. Arse. Wasted most of the practice session then trying to fix it, and had a big off just as the practice ended as I tried to find the limits. Didn't qualify because I really didn't know the track well enough. Learned some more good lessons though. Smashed the rear bumper bad, smashed the lights, bent the exhaust, snapped and bent sone of the mounts, bent in the back panel about an inch. Fixed that lot now though fairly well, I had some spare tail lights so i could swap those straight over, smacked the panels back into place with a lump hammer and put the standard bumper back on.

I've since spent a fair bit of time getting it looking good in prep for the BDC weekend event. First off were a pair of Riverside 17x9 et12's for the front and some 25mm spacers for the rear.

Over the next week and a bit, I worked my ass off fixing the front bumper properly (what a ballache!) and getting it sprayed up. I ended up using Halfords rattlecan mixes at £11 a can... of which I used 7 in total. To be fair though, the colour matches have been pretty spot on and the finish for rattlecans is great. I'm very very happy with it.

I am also now sponsored by EPRacing who supplied me with the roof spoiler. Top guys. Fir a finishing touch, I decided to fit some proper carbon fibre splitters to the front bumper, which I really like.

I still need to really lacquer it all up if I have the time as the finish is pretty matt right now, but its prefectly acceptable. I also need a new rear bumper which I will hopefully be able to sort out with EPRacing next year. Overall though, I'm extremely pleased and it and it looks a lot better in the metal than it did in the photoshops. I'm on the lookout for some decent rims for the back (the current ones are 17x9 et40) but until next year I think this is the final look. For those of you who haven't seen them in the media section, here are the pics of the 'finished' car.

On a bit more of an unrelated note, a couple of weeks ago now I found a 1-2 week old kitten lying in the road outside my house. He's such a cutie, everyone loves him - I named him Neko. Here he is enjoying my dish!

Looking good Andy, so glad you kept the 2 tone

If it were my car, I'd run the spacer'd wheels up front, and the dishies on the rear, but purely from a looks perspective.

About time you got some sponsorship too

Thing is with the wheels is that if I had them on the back, they would only be on there while I use up a pair of tires. On the front, they are there all the time looking pimp.

Thanks for the comments!

Wheels are Riverside Japan 'somethings'. I honestly have no idea what they are, all I know is they are oldschool as I can't find any up to date info on them. I found them second hand on here, and they didn't cost me much, thats all I'm saying.

About time I updated this actually, should have some more video footage this weekend.

Liking the two tone very much, nice to be original for a change. Gives me so much hope for mine when i see guys in BDC still running CA18's without mega budgets.
Some sweet looking driving aswell

Thanks to Jord (cheers mate), I have at least discovered that there is another make of wheel which looks almost identical to these - Stich Mesh's - so I at least have a chance of getting a near matching set some time in the future.

this thread is what stops me wanting to buy a s14 or R32 to Drift. ive had one of the early photo shops as a backdrop on my PC for AGES!!! how Do th S13 fair on the tarmac comparing to S14 and R32. IS there any disadvantage/advantage to going with The S13 (uk 200) body shape over them? or have you found any... (the engine kind of doesnt matter as if i did i will be Dropping a Sr in or buyingone with on in already.) ?

p.s i first saw your car in someone else's build Thread in the back ground when you were helping someone else, always thought it was awsome

Cheers. Having briefly driven both an R32 and an S14, I'd say that my car feels a lot more nimble. More edgey - as in it seems to work best when on the limit, bit thats probably due to its ligher weight plus that the others I drove still had full interiors.

Pros: Lighter than the more modern ones, easier to fit a shit load of tyres into. Better stock handbrake than S14's.
Cons: Rust. CA18 is a bit gutless, but not a problem if you're SR swapping.
