LOL Well im not gonna rush things, I want it done right so time isnt really an issue at this point. My main ain at the moment while the engine is out is to get the bay cleaned out properly (cant stand dirty engine bays) and to get rid of the non essentials. Aircon is now history and ive removed all the pipework to the hot start solonoid but not sure wether or not to remove the electrical gubbins for it?
Also as you can see Im starting to clean up and paint the other bits and bobs like brakcets etc and also plan to get the rocker covers done too once they have been through the parts washer. I tried to get hold of some standard ones as it seems a shame to Oapint the polished ones that I have but I guess I wont have to go through the paint stripping process with these ones lol.

right, time for another update, nothing further on the engine front at the moment but today saw a monumental external change to the car.
Time to lose the sponge type standard spoiler and fit my new on which I got for FREE! Also that meant the filling of some holes and finding out how bad the rot on my tailgate is,
Thankfully it was pretty near mint, still a bit more work to do on the tailgate as you will see (Proud filler) but not bad for a bodywork novice.
Anyway I will let the pics do the talking.
I guess this is where I warn you this could be a "marmite" thing, your either gonna love it or hate it.
Standard spoiler Yuck

Wheres the rust?

Bit o filler work

bit more filler work

Time to prime

1st base coat

finished paint

Are you ready for this?
MARMITE

I absolutely love it, cant grumble for a freebie well chuffed with the way it all turned out.

Looks out of place on a standard s13

I'd have gone for the smooth look , but thats just my opinion , good luck with it.

Theres mnore to come when I sort out a bodykit and some rimmage in the future,
The suspension looks high as there is no engine in herat the moment, I got on with fitting as I was at a point where there wasnt really alot else I could be doing (waiting on a head rebuild) so its another item off the "to do list"

Thought I had better giva y'all an update.
The engine is still in bits but being collected by South East Motorsports today to be put back together and rebuilt etc.
In the meantime ive sourced a short shift kit, Leonard Volanti steering wheel, DB Power FMIC, 17" Enkies and have some cusco coilovers coming.

Looks alot better with the rims and the wing combo now aand will look sweet sittinmg low on coilovers

So im still at it, havent given up although im getting twitchy now, its been off the road far too long but while the car is apart everything is being cleaned properly and alotof other work going on around each little project on the car.

Coilovers now fitted
Fronts before

Much niceness 8-)

fitted

didnt get a pic of the old rear on the car but together with the new

fitted

and the final result after a bit of tinkering with the settings

excuse the high front but due to no engine I couldnt set the height yet
But its going to look ace when its all done. Its MUCH lower than it was on the old set up

Hi mate, nice car. Quick question, are you missing a locking collar on the hub end? Just that mine came with 4 collars per strut, or are you getting ready to go low like Dex?

Thats as low as its going mate, all collars are present.
Just need to bring the front end down now to match the height of the rears.

Just a quick update
Spent yesterday resetting the front suspension and trial fitting the 17's
Couldnt do much on account of a broken arm (me not the car).

Looks like it will sit nice once the engine is back in

Got the back seat secured today and got round to securing the battery in its new location while I was at it.
Just need to build a box cover for neatness now.

Fuel pump didnt arrive so thats still to be done, but next week all being well the engine will be back and installed. Cant wait, real progress being made now and I cannot wait to get the car back on the road and see what its like, its going to be a completely different car to when I took it off the road back in March, since then approximately 300 hours work has gone into this.
