lanson

starks eh ?

what does he drive - im not brilliant with names. there was a lad in a 106 from launceston asking about my car a few months ago.

i was parked up in an industrial estate cooking beef burgers on my manifolod in tin foil at about 1am lol

ive seen that micra turbo driving about - different which i like... whats done on the handling side of things ?

as for turbo'ing mine i might just bite the bullet and get a brand new turbo...

eBay Motors: 94-02 MIATA 1.8L GT28 TURBO+MANIFOLD+T28 ELBOW DOWNPIPE (item 250208963040 end time Jan-29-08 19:05:48 PST)

this seems to be the best priced one i have found so far. there seems to loads for the 1.6 but not the 1.8, how strange !!!!!!

Starks lives in bude, drive a red 200sx. He's on here too.

lots of 106's in launceston which isnt a suprise, too many chavs not enough scrappies. Infact i think i have the only car in launceston which doesnt have lexus lights!

yeah that micra was partly to do with me, but i work with the guy who built it. He sold it not long ago, to me... who took much pleasure in smashing it to pieces mmmm 12k car for £1500. Bargain!

anyway, ill stop polluting your thread

*ahem* 4 hours to bare-shell a complete car isnt bad right?

drop top micra, could you get any gayer?

lexus lights

i thank the chap who thought of copying lexus lights onto every other vehicle is rich by now, but it is a great chav warning system effective upto 500 yards day or night lol

ok, change of plan here, done some more work lately but mostly inside the car...

the bbs will be going on my e30 bmw My 2 door E30 and i now have some new wheels for the mazda.

after a serious bit of sanding/priming they started to come up ok.

heres the black going on. not bad for a can but afterwards I decided to take the rubber off and split the rims apart to make a better job of it !

much has happened since updating this thread, the engine bay has seen a SMALL FIRE (after fitting a new strut brace i did not secure the air filter back to it and it fell down to the manifold) ! however the people that drove past while i was p'ing on the engine seemed amused lol.

Note to self - install fire extinguisher

the diff casing has snapped at the mounts due to a heavy "bottom out" at 80mph. the underside chassis rails have a lot of scraping down them and the subframes are scraped like crazy.

Note to self - raise suspension and fit gaurds underneath

the exhaust is knackered ! AGAIN !!!

oh well, i have a workshop now and theres a paint booth next door so I am going to go mad with this car now. paint, polybushes, change exhaust, change suspension, change wheels and lots of tidy'ing.

car is now off the road for overhaul no.2
pics coming...

broken mazda

ok

went back to the workshop tonight and took some pics of the mx5.

heres the damage to the diff (the arm from the top of the diff to the chassis has snapped).

now I have the car jacked up and will replace the spine/exhaust/propshaft/rear subframe/lsd/shafts/arms and polybush the rear while its all apart.

Also to stop this happening again the suspension will be raised/changed. havent decided how yet...

Me and my mates (ben.b/ben.l) workshop, and ben.b's (benson200sx) rb25 s13 project which we collected yesterday

Oh i will find them if its the last thing i do corey, he must be local. I remember his stupid face (there was too many of them for any hero shit).

Adam !
shaweeet car matey, wish mine was that shiney The paintwork has always been the bad point of this car (no rust) just dents/scratches. At least now it will be painted and lurvely again...

In the end I managed to find a bumper and wings at the right price and they are black already so no red or white stone chip marks !
I have a windscreen at work, and my friend has a spraybooth next to my workshop and has VERY kindly agreed to paint the car at cost.

Just over the tamar bridge ?! I know the area pretty well, do you ever go to Imports 4 u ? they have a green mx round the back of their yard but nothing major on it...

whats your mileage ? any upgrades ? how long ya had it ?
by the way if you need spares just ask me. i have access to 4 mx5's breaking and friends with more bits, along with my own stock of stuff hehe gotta b done

will

Got any low milage gearbox's for a 1.8?? lol Mine is crunchy as fook!

Mods, um, got a HKS Ind. kit and Larini 100m exhaust and de-catted.

Factory Bilstein suspension, got a hardtop on her now to.

Just ordered a Garage Vary front lip today and an offset front number plate holder!

Just need some decent alloys, and maybe some arch extensions then drop her.

milage is 130K! had her about 3-4 months, previously had the sx in my sig, and now have an auto S14a im trying to shift!

Yea my dad lives on that Imports 4 u road! I've never had a good look at the cars but might have a gander at the 5.

Adam

yeah got a nice gearbox, but...

They come crunchy as standard !! well not completely (and i dont know how bad yours is) but changing the oil alone makes a massive difference.

Also if you remove the gear shifter from inside the car i bet there is no oil in the pot where the shifter stick sits. for a couple of quid i replaced the tiny "press on" nylon cup that sits on the end of the shiter stick in the gearbox. I'd say definately try these things b4 swapping a box might save you quite a few $£ and some drifting time...

If you go to imports just ask "Piers" if you can look at the mx5. he's nice enuf but always pretty busy.

I like those alloys in the pic, my bilsteins wore out i replaced them with kyb adjustables which are pretty good tho...

Its definately hardtop time, i got a wet arse today cos i cudnt be arsed to put the top on yesterday haha oh well.

Be carefull how much you drop her, i completely fooked mine as you can see earlier in the thread !!!!

I live in "lowered car hell" tho !!!

will

new vids

I found the best place to learn was in fields...

Its less harsh on the car (If you can find somewhere smooth), there's less people to annoy, its a lot more slippery meaning you dont need so much power, and tyres last aaaaages
