Right the alarm is out now, it was a little pain really as it was connected to the ignition and also the the fuel pump. From looking like this.

To now this

Just need to solder the ignition cable and hope the car starts (once everything is put back).

One alarm, which will be up for sale.

Also ordered some goodies yesterday from and they arrived this morning at my work before i did, less then 24 hour delivery. Cheers Ben

Also done the fuel pump tonight. Pretty easy job realy.

The difference between the standard and the Walbro.

New one fitted and the two wires soldered in.

Thats it for today

Ok then, done a few things but still not that many
Got these the other week just something that will make it look ok for the time being.

Also this the Stage2+ Finally got a clutch that i wont kill after few thousand miles.

Got the engine mounts on which was really easy to do.

Jacked up the engine and pulled the old one out and in with the new one

NEw to Old

All done, took about 30mins or so, just a little tricky to get the steering side mount undone.

Then went on to done the Steering column bushes, which is a right pain. One of the nuts was fricked so had to saw it off

Then getting this thing off was a pain, so took a bit of time.

The old one wasnt really bad as many people seem to have problems with theirs.

Fitted

Cause the srew that i sawed off was on the upper side of the column and they are pressed in. I had to take off the whole thing, but it was pretty easy though. So going to have to find one somewhere, Nissan only do the whole thing as one, which is silly.

Oh found this link as i was changing the bush, its the best one ive seen, really good.
Driftworks Stainless Steel Steering Bush Fitting Guide

Also changed the rack bushes, which were soooo easy. Off with the old

The old ones were also not that bad, but the soild ones should stiff the shit out of it. lol

And the new one.

Also was going to change the cam belt but looks like it was done not long ago, just need to change the Alt. and steering belts. Oh and spray the cover too.

Found little more rust on the passengers side rails, but its not too bad, gave it a good clean.

And the inside too

Also tried to heat wrap the mani. Are you meant to wet it and then put it on, or is it fine just as it is. Done two sides.

I forgot about this. Got a bonnet from a scrapy down the road for £10 which is good. A Honda Accord one.

Cut the frame out.

And all the metal that i will need.

Well the welder works which is good so done the passanger side rear panel, which is the smallist one. Welded it by dots all round and then sanded it down and now need to use some filler. Doesnt look too bad.

Will do all the other bits soon and then start on the filling and painting.

That is a GX71 Chaser 1986. Its just a 2L straight six, not really that fast and its an auto with no real handbrake.
I would love to drift it but i think it would fall apart and it is my daily driver so wouldnt want it to break.

/\/\ Ive just used the old hole/screws where the seat belts use to be, yeah get a pic to see what you mean.

Right done a few things (not much).

Got the gearbox off to change the clutch, all by myself. Well to the point where i got my leg trapped and had to get my brother to move the box off it lol. Should be more fun pointing it back on AGAIN.
It was a little dirty so gave it a little clean.
From this.

To this

Ordered few more bits and bobs, still waiting for some stuff, but as always the stuff is the fastest. Had to get another filter as my brother nicked mine to put on his S14a.

Fitted, but I need to find somewhere a intake pipe. Anyone??????

Mount also fitted.

Also got some new screws for the steering column and got that back in.

Was a little tricky getting the whole thing back in, but not too bad.

Now the rest of the welding should be all done over the weekend. It really sucks that its getting dark so early, cant get anything done after work.

Cheers dude.
More work done, not as much as i thought would be done but had few problems.
I pulled the wiring loom out from the back so its not in the way when spraying. Pretty easy to pull all apart.

Started on the welding again, done the passenger side sill. Cut the metal and got it ready.

The welder wasnt been friendly and causing problems (as you can see some of the holes) but after playing around with the settings and the gas level got it to work better.

After

Grinding done to make it look nice.

Then yesterday was about to start again and ran out of gas, and everything was closed.
So done a little more pulling and strightening on the driver's side rear. Its as best as it can be.

And tonight done a little more after buying more gas (lots of it, lol)

Pulled the ariel out and filled the hole.

Also done the inside bit.

Not perfect but will done. The way it looks is the last thing on my mind.

More welding tomorrow.

What welder are you using mate ? You may want to be a bit more consistent on the welds if your doing any structural areas

More of a solid weld ie no breaks in it all round (consistent was probably the wrong word to use ) to make sure its nice and strong, make sure the penetration is decent as well on areas that will be taking stress, but aesthetic areas should be ok as your doing it now.
Migs are easy to use once you get a nice setting, very easy to keep consistent/neat/good welds once you get it, just have a play with the settings
