| On the 2nd of Febuary 2007 i posted this picture - ![]() It was the start of over a year of building my drift car. This car is'nt being built to be the best, or to be the most competitive, its being built to forfill a little dream i've had in my head since 1998 when i first saw drifting. I feel its quite important to stress that i only post pictures of what im doing on here so my friends can see what im doing,. im not interested in what several idiots have to say, or anyone thats decided to "annoy" me or generally critisize my hard work. Basically, if you dont have something decent to say, the just dont post, it wont harm your life not to. So i purchased the car from Nick Powerdrift, drove it from there to Watford to see Smeeth at Garage D and then jumped straight on a boat to Holland via SRB Power. ![]() The work began with stripping the car and having the Cage done, Albin of TwoTuners from Steenbergen, Holland worked his ass off to produce a cage to my specifications, and i am very fussy! ![]() After getting a bit depressed at looking at a standard body skyline with a stripped interior, i decided to fit the Uras kit i had been provided by Dan at SRB Power, the fitting as always was perfect. ![]() ![]() I then undertook the tedious task of re-wiring the car, which as any hardened drifter know is a horrid job, it ended up a bit like this. ![]() ![]() I then undertook some of the Engine work, at this point i was hopping from one job to another to try to build the car as fast as possible. All the work was being done at my friends workshop, Lennard Wander, a fellow driver and my housemate. If it wasnt for Lennard letting us use his workshop i wouldnt have gotten anything done by this point! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I exchanged the rockers of my RB25 for those of the RB26, quite a few people had something to say about this one, something along the lines of it being a pointless waste of money and time. Technically they are right, but on the other hand, drifting IS a show sport. ![]() ![]() ![]() About the same time as this, Albin had also been busy making me ally panels. Including the end plates of the infamous drag wing. ![]() ![]() This would be the highly skilled and mild mannered Ablin... ![]() |

| So the work continued slowly, mainly due to the high volume of coffeeshops in holland, with Nick, Albin, Jonny, the RO and Wander making being smashed so much more fun. Thanks guys Thankfully, the Driftworks boys (and girl) had been feeding me parts to fit and keep me focused, sort of.![]() ![]() ![]() At this point i was wanting to make myself feel better about the car not driving, so the obvious thing to do... make it look better! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The work then shuffled over to the hot side of the engine, to have a shot at what was going on down there. The car had come with a TD06-20g fitted, but it was in need of some attention to say the least. It was fitted in a very urban fashion shall we say. ![]() ![]() On a side note, it was around this point where i became aware of these wheels for sale, which i obviously bought, thanks to my birkenhead roots. They were probally stolen from some southern fairy ![]() ![]() ![]() Now this is a few months into building the car, the season appears to have started and gotten well underway without me, luckily i had also been building up "battle turd" with Jamie at Garage Mac, so i did have some kind of drift fix, although as far as this build was going i had lost the will to live. I was at the point of "roughly putting things on and then staring at it like it would fix itself" and oddly enough, that never happened. ![]() |

| A few months of doing roughly nothing and being sad that i couldnt compete, with the addition of the DBM guys tuning my housemate Wanders car into some power crazed drift beast basically pissed me off to the point where i felt a little more motivated. I'd also met Paul Howard of Jap Imports / JDM Garage a few times over the year and it was decided that i would go to live with him in Cornwall. After living in the mellowness that is Holland, i couldnt deal with the idea of moving to a city right away. I was sad to leave my Dutch compadres, however work began again. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It was about this point where i wondered what i was actually doing, well in regards to building the car. I hadnt really done the best work that i could have, so everything changed, the car came back apart and things started getting re-built properly. As in, making the vision inside my head a reality, i had spent a year prentending to build something awesome, but in reality, i had spent the year dicking about and playing at building a special car. This was mainly prompted by the work that was being done on this forum, some amazing cars are coming together, like a LOT of them and i felt i was being left behind. So, i began working, every moment like a madman, black metal blasting out through the night and my hands getting cut up good in my zombiefied work daze. The only reason i have the time for this is since the car is in Geoff Moores bodyshop down the road. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I'd also thrown together a bit of a fuel system to avoid surge, although i've changed it all again now! ![]() So with the motivation up and the season approaching i'm determined to get the car running, tested, re-fined and drift the shit out of it. Todays update is that the car is painted and will be with me again next week, the interior is flocked (an amazing job by Carl Sorensen Motorsport! 01753 603 500), the seats are away being trimmed, the engine is almost together and its basically all there. I need to spendsome more pennies on bits to complete it, but within 2-3weeks im running. Below, just a rough idea of how its going to look and yes, i've gone WV2 Sparkling Silver from the R34 Vpec II NUR edition, keeping it in the family! ![]() |

| The bodyshop guys hard at work, Geoff really is a perfectionist, he's done an amazing job and yet he's still stressing that its not good enough for him! It looks like a new car, when i went to see it i found Geoff staring at it and looking miserable, amazing painter. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The paint is SO good, you might also notice the new Rota wheels. ![]() In the meantime the interior now its actually had the effort it deserves put into it... ![]() The injector wiring extended, since i complained about it many months ago, it now runs underneath the plenum. I've also changed the fuel pump relay positions and the cut out for the car and made a small box for them in the cockpit. ![]() ![]() Finally, the last part of this update, the engine in mock up form, all the pipework is hand made by Dave Vanstone, Fabricator for JDM Garage, but is now off to spend some time at Julians place. He is a serious welding king. ![]() ![]() My final note - I've re-done this entire thread to get rid of all the pointless comments on the old thread, i can put this down to a few people, the two that stand out being Bizzle and MJG - Stupid posts will be deleted and ANY attempt at annoying me from either of you will result in an instant ban, the final straw was you two on my 43,000 view post. Nice note to finish on. Thanks for looking, Mitto x |

Roof and door shuts are being done tonight! ![]() In the meantime, a front panel i mocked up is being cut out now, to be weldinated and fitted up. ![]() My turbo is close to my engine mount... HKS Cast Iron manifold though ![]() ![]() |

Im blatantly robbing your seat back idea tho, diff style, but thats mint, so its getting stolenised. Tho it will get fricked carrying wheels wont it, ah frick ![]() |
