i started out today with a little electrical work, My worce nightmare, i can do pretty much anything else on a car apart from electrical, i know my basics but thats it but hey thats what im at college for learning motor vehicles

here is what i got done today:

Firstly made a Switch box for my centre console:

i have aload more room on ther for anything else i might want to add such as fuel and battery cut off

Then got the car back in garage and up on stands for the big work to start

and then i got to snap of what is lurking underneath before it gets a big overhaul:

and there will be more progress tomorrow and will be pics of everything and all diff and props and stuff should be off,

just awaiting hydro and new brake a fuel lines to turn up and then both fuel and brake lines will be in car for extra safety

quickly measured my diff so i could order a welded one of ROB at teeside:

back up it went on jacks and attacked the diff with not too great of an accomplishment:

also took a part of the backbox off to get a diff properly:

dont laugh at my pea shooter, i love it tho

and here is some fanny on pics:

and back there tomorrow to see if i can actually attack the diff with some force and get it off, problem is i dont have any heat source or muscle haha so pretty hopeless but ill try again

By the way m8 its the top mounts that you need to measure to check if its a 7 1/2" or the easy way is to see if the top bolt has a nut on one end (7") or a bolt each side (7 1/2")

small update but huge progress in my eyes

Got some new brake fluid FREE off my next door neighbour who works at Renault, its £34.95 for a tub of 500ml and mine took 2 and a half bottles lol including bleeding and i have a few bottles left for spare

blead all the brakes
loosend most of the diff off, just have one proble with on drive shaft as bolts are rounded? any help on that
undersealed most of the car and wire brushed the brake lines and came up ok but will eventually need changing
made a board with wheels to slide under car made from, under bonnet heat sheet, floor carpet , wardrobe door and a computer chair wheels works tho so why pay for one
got the blue xr4i out to see how she is and she fricking filthy

Niiiice engine! If you would ever want to make a body mod, you should make it a 2door sedan, that's be the real GT drift fighter Sierra
Waiting for some extra steering lock mods

Nah m8, i want a xr4i not a cosworth look a like

well was told to grind off my diff bolts because i had rounded them but me being a fanny said no and tried with a hacksaw, tool 1 hour to get about 3mm through so i said frick it and got the grinder out, Thanks to L.Pedro(on here) for helping me as he always does, dont even have to ask him sometimes hes like already under my car doing little bits here and there so thanks buddy

Got the Generator going and got the grinder out, we got through 3 bolts in around 15mins but then we had to pack up and call it a day so we will be back at it tomorrow but here is some pics for just now.....

they're not allen key bolts are they? cant see from the pic. Would of said try a 6 sided socket instead of a 12 sided as the 6 sides work from the flat top on the bolt head rather than twisting from the corners like a 12 sided socked usually does. heat, shock with hammer, and duck oil sometimes does too. but it came off in the end though!

You can't use normal hex head bolts on the driveshafts, the heads are too big and catch on the cv boot. Ford used the T40 or T47 socket head bolts and unless you get a good quality tool to remove them there dam hard to get off.
I just cut the heads off and replace then with allen socket heads.
