Volvo 340 Turbo

Hello

I'm building and driving a volvo 340. It began as a 1.4 variomatic, which i've driven for 3 years now. Done 3 driftdays, and decided to begin with competition drifting. The kamikaze driftcup in Belgium, a beginners cup. I wanted more power, so last weekend a swapt the lump for the turbolump.

So the volvo:

Engine:
-of a Renault 5 GTT
-custom turboheader
-custom exhaust

Suspension
Koni front dampers
Koni rear dampers
stock suspension

Driveline:
5-speed (stock)
welded diff

Interior
sparco bucket
6-point sabelt harness
Equus gauges for turbopressure, oilpressure and oiltemperature

Sorry for my english, isnt very best!

Few pictures:

My dutch blog: Hendrickx motorsport

Thursday first competition, so wish me luck :]

Stavros, I've read that you know a lot about this engine. Give me some advice please, I haven't been busy with tuning yet. Also information about maintenance is allright.

Thanks man

I think i've reached that a lot of times....
And like WJ said, I think not everything liked it. But still have to look whats wrong

@ the hat: the wiring side of this engine is very interesting, there is no!
You've the oilpressure switch, the ignition, some wires from the altenator and thats it. I've used all volvo stuff. Renault doesn't have a name in electrics

grtz

TDC: good one rembering me. You can use the volvo one, a bit longer wiring and fits the renault renix. Use the renault renix 208 or 209, they can handle boost.
What does AEI mean?
It almost doens't have sensors because of the carburettor (yeah, one for the tempgauge)

AEI = Renix 208/9.

Try swapping the wires round on the TDC sensor or smacking it with a hammer to give a bit more advance. 3 or 4 degrees really percs them up, but watch for detonation, especially if you are running more than 1 bar of boost..

well i use to hae a real quik 5 gtt but the wiring i was wondering on was the ignition coil and its unit for changing the ignition timing to suit the boost i still have an adjustable timing sensor in the shed so no need for hammers lol
