I understand where your coming from, I also read quite a few of these project threads and some of the things that people try in my eyes are not ideal or the way I would do them. But in my view these threads are here to let people show others what they have done, unless they ask for comment I dont critise and leave them to it. Whos to say yours or my way is the right/best way?

Well, Mr Bizzle is saying his is the right way, and you are saying your restrained tolerance is the right way. The joy of the internet is two fold: 1 - anyone can have an opinion. 2 - I can stop reading any time.

| PhinBob | I'm not sure that there have been any personal attacks on Aton, its more of a case of "Nice idea mate, shame it wont work". Its nice to see someone trying, but it would be rude of people to say nothing and let the bloke waste his time. If we're to be proved wrong we'd need to see the calculations to support the theory. Its relatively easy to calculate the amount of fuel required to generate the energy to create 50bhp at the wheels (factoring in drivetrain, engine heat and frictional losses) as it is also relatively easy to calculate the amount of energy to split enough hydrogen off to create the fuel. From there its a simple matter of comparing the two values, factoring in the additional load on the engine required to generate the electricity for the electrolysis to see that they dont add up. If this stuff worked it would be used in ships and submarines where water is plentiful and the self-created hydrogen oxygen gases would provide a self-fuelling propulsion mechanism. For some strange reason they use Nuclear reactors to drive steam turbines. Solid scientific theory is proven by peer review, what has happened here is as nothing compared to a 'proper' scientific debate. |

BMW get it to work, but the 7 series cars they did make all went to deleb's and are on loan only! Hydrogen will be kept under wrap's by our government as they make too much money in fuel TAX etc.... Just think if all ours cars where tax free how would they find money to fix em, and if not buy petrol any more how would they fund all the over spending?

FYI Daimler AG has also researched fuel cells for almost 20 years now and even has an own Development Center close to their HQ devoted for the F-Cell. Apparently Daimler has the largest fleet of hydrogen cars globally. Can't remember the exact numbers, but 2006 they achieved a combined mileage of over 2m kilometres (~1.24m miles). Their cars run on Ballard fuel cells. More info can be found here among others if interested.
