two weeks ago I desided to fit in my friend`s engine, from crashed evo..... just for a time, while I repairing mine

then I replaced LSD with a fully welded one

after a little training, it started smell with a fired diff oil
I looked at a diff and found two little holes in a diff cover......
after disassembling, I saw a two studs goes out and crashed my cover

then cover was welded....

20.06 I desided to go for a local official drift training
it was wery good with a welded diff..... but then shit happend

it`s a rear diff pare
all night I was replacing it to a spare "LONG" pare from MMC RVR
I gained addittional 20 km/h for each 100 km/h

and finally at 21.06 was my debute in a local champ
some pics of mine

oo, almost forgot..... all studs was converted to 5x114.3, and sweet Volk GT-P rims was finally fitted with front 215/40-17 and rear 234/40-17 rubber

I think it`s possible to do on any 4wd car
just weld a center diff (or viscouse coupler like I did)
pull out front axles, block front wheel hub in a bearing and go to skid

but I want to warn you, DON`T DO THIS!! cause you`ll get tons of problems in other places and too low steering angle

So, my race season is over, because of dead ceramic clutch disk.... i replaced it with organic, cos i`m out of money
and finally, yesterday I have bought a new Engine from "japan yahoo auction"
engine is 4g63t from Lancer Evolution 5, 80000km, with tranny, transfer case and all the wiring
here is a photo of it:

at the autumn i`m planning to buy a tranny from mazda rx-7 fd3s, and fit it to the engine through the bell of evo tranny, it needs a little cut

Man!! That`s an awesome idea!!
I`ve just compared a turn radius of mirage ck1a by catalog and found that it`s much lower than on evo ce9a..... 4.8 against 5.5 meters

and mirage steering rack is so cheap as 30-40$ for used in perfect condition

cefiro_drifta thanks for an idia, i think i`ll try it this winter

Здравствуйте!

I wanted to ask...Who bought the engine on Yahoo auctions for you?

Love the car too. Evo 3 and 4 are my favourites! Best looking rally car ever IMO.

It dont matter Alex - I have done just this with my car. no difference in steering since the steeringarms knock onto the subframe out by the wheels.

and today on "masterclass" training, I had a chance to have a photo with nim

(Nomura Ken is pretty good known as japanese D1 Grand Prix driver "Nomuken")
