Swiftmini's s13. new engine, thanks japimports.

Iam building my prefacelift 13 for road use and hopefully some drift practice days

I don't have much to report at the mo, although once the cometic headgasket arrives from PEC (Day 7 today, they are wank don't bother) i shall have it all back together ready for some practice.

Iam still in need of a slippy diff and a bucket.

The car has a locked rear subby, coillies, homebrew metal column spacer and possibly o few other bits that i have forgotten about.

Here is a few pics.

Cheers fellow skids

Will update as soon as i have the gasket.

Kev

I had a bash at a screamer job but couldn't get it too seal ok, sounded like a blowing exhaust.

wooohoooo!

got it back on the road last night, i'm over the moon.

turbo makes 7 psi by about 2.5-3 k rpm, that's with actuator backed right off.

car is quick but its not quite alive enough, my suspicions are cam timing or maybe the cheap as chips chip.

got a few noises aswell now, a whining noise, probably diff whining through the locking collars.

also boost gauge making weird vibro/hiss noise.

got a rumbling clutch release bearing.

things that need attention are:-

turbo drain needs altering.

gearbox needs oil change.

need to turn my dampers down.

need to book rollers for a check up.

cheers

almost forgot! I got z32 front callies and 310mm discs.

most of the 5 stud conversion

should have buckets and belts sorted by end of the w'end.

need to save for a slippy diff, so I can actually learn to drift. my skills are limited to gran turismo and local kart center.

cheers

the fmic is an ebay job off a seller called autoextreme its an s13 sr20 kit so I have altered it slightly.

I picked up some buckets today, hope to fit them over the weekend.

also carried out the gearbox oil change (via shifter hole) and also engine oil and filter.

I manage
198 miles before the inevitable happened.

blue smoke follewed by sluggishness and then loss of compression.

Gutted, all I want is to go drifting, grrrrr.

it could have happened after det or something, the engine hesitated and smoke went blue.

the car may get broken pending internal damage.
