Sammy - just a quick observation - the riveting would look much better if you measured them out and put them at the same intervals... just my opinion

Ha that looks mint with the vent in place dude DTMPowers got a point to consider if you have to put anymore rivets in, but if your done now man I wouldnt worry about it You gonna go round the edges with filler to help it meet with the bonnet better or you not worried about that?

Good to see some progress anyway dude and that you havent lost your willpower yet! You better bloody not either, keep at it bud

yeah man your right. prob is i added more rivets around the areas that looked more stressed than others(really had to bend the vent in the front corners for it to sit on the bonnet) and by that point it was a mess already. plus i get bit carried away with rivet gun..its my fav job

should look tidy when all in same colour

You've got an update and I've got an update! I finally bought that electric fan I wanted and it's same size as yours...15". It comes with a plastic housing that might help me out with the mounting strategy. That means I won't be needing those promised photos from yours to see how it fits hehehe

To get the vent to sit flatter you need to rivet from one end to the other, then it'd pull down and sit flush over the contours without bending like it has.

Also mega overkill on the rivets...

As for the air coming out of the bleed nipple, keep filling the bottle and letting it spill over, make sure the rad bleed point is higher than any other part of the cooling system when you're trying to bleed it (your drive faces downhill??) and also remember that once all major air is purged BMW systems are self bleeding, so you don't need to worry.

just tried drilling out rivets at the end then doing one side then the other, its a bit better but still cant get any rivets in that section, bonnet drops away from the vent to much. cheers though better than it was

cool about bmw so if i turn it around to face down my drive(nicely remembered btw, prob cos me,you and jay had to push your car up it!) then do it. sorted

That looks cool bud

Yer turn your car around if your having problems bleeding it! or if it's any better get it somewhere flat and jack the front up!

Just be careful re-tightening the bleed screw, they're flimsy lol! I snapped mine, there cheap enough should you snap it though, just make sure if you do snap it you can get the other half out the rad When I did mine the system was still raving hot and pressurised and I had to watch a fountain show for 10minutes lmao!

well bonnet fitted back on car. i think it looks bad ass and sits just behind the rad so may actually help things..wohoo

pain in ass one of the bonnet bolts had been cross threaded in the past..i just wedged it in as tight as i dare, may attempt to take it out and use couple washers but dont wanna strip the thread

havent re-fitted bmw badge as changed my mind. ordered carbon bmw badge instead to be posh/gay

even my lizzard shim skaylie thinks my car looks bad ass

jeff vent is genuine uras(brought for s13) srb power do them or get a cheap copy on egay. i got mine from shaz
