id rather not get into engine swaps unless i really have too. once cage is in im taking it to a bmw specalist near my work, if the engines frickered then ill look at going for 3.2 lump. i just wanna get drifting asap, engine swaps are time consuming so its only a last resort plus i believe 2.8 is more than capable at bdc level.

Been a while since last update. been busy trying to apply for navy and working my ass off. Big Thank you to alex at k-drift who picked the car up today to get lots of work done on her, including cage and few other little jobs. Should be awesome when its finished. Also had a few little packages and goodies arrive too to keep me busy when the cars back.

glad to see theres someone else with a e36 touring, i've got a 328 to, just not with the mtech kit. just slap a turbo on the car( my plan with the std manifold cut and shut to fit a turbo), thats gonna be the only real way to get more powers or swap a m3 engine in. did the M50 manifold and bbtb make a differance and did you get it re-maped to suit? chris

id say the 325 manifold and tb have only made a slight difference in throttle response, havent driven it properly yet so cant really say much in terms of power etc, feels alot smoother though. havent had it re-mapped either, got a few other bolt ons to fit yet so will look at doing that after there all fitted. going to keep mine n/a for reliability and ease. danieru yep that would of been mine, thanks bud.

| from what i hear the manifold+ BBTB helps the top end as the std manifold is the restriction, you can feel it most in 2nd/ 3rd gear. i'm considering it to help with the turbo set up but its a hell of alot of money i'd rather fab something myself! chris p.s. thought about an M20 flywheel and cluch to free the revs up? | BMW Driver... | Sounds good Sammy ![]() IF you were considering an engine swap and were looking at the 3.2's just be a bit careful in what you buy as the twin Vanos systems can be a little fragile the 3litre ones are much more reliable.Would be awsome to see it go down the turbo road mind! |
