| Nice, good spec too ![]() Not sure about the following plans though tbh Quote:
Why strip it? Is it purely a track car, or daily hack aswell? IMHO stripped daily drivers are for morons. They're just noisier and look stupid. Maybe in an E30 316 it might be worth it, but on a car that drifts so well, if you want to improve power to weight, just turn the boost up a little more?? And why zip tie the aero?? Its on atm, leave it surely? When you take it off with a tyre or cone, then zip tie it, but why not wait for that to happen? As I said above, its a nice car, hope you get lots of drifting out o it ![]()

You can get more wheels in it. But also its free power. If your not going to use the extra seats etc whats the need for them. Last edited by OrionRS : 05-06-2008 at 20:53.

| see you point TT, but its a dedicated track car, and ive got a cage going in so its gonna have to be stripped. i dont think id ever use aircon, theres only about two days a year you need it and the belt is squealing. as for zip tieing aero, as dave said, it doesnt shatter to a million pieces when you hit something, it just falls off. if you have it screwed and bonded on it will smash to bits! |

| Update- almost forgot i owned this fooking car! it went to lydd a few weeks back for its first track outing, didnt even make it round the first corner! lost drive completly, wont go into gear. pretty sure its slave cylinder/release bearing related. very big thinks to alex for towing her home... ![]() since then its just sat in the garage feeling sorry for itself due to lack of time/funds/constantly shagging the new missus. ![]() went down there today, sadly no ramp space free so thought id get to work and see what i could do. removed all the rear seating/plastics and soundproofing. replaced boot release with locking catches. dug out my old s13 cage and stuck it in: ![]() ![]() ![]() fits pretty well, door bars need welding in, but just sleeved them for now, not like its going anywhere! also fitted in most of the wiring for cut offs/push start engine etc, will finish them off soon. also replaced the various bulbs that wernt working. should be able to get it on a ramp 2moro and see whats what, fingers crossed should be back on the road next week. |

| next on the list: -sort out clutch -delimit top speed -get it mapped/checked over on the rollers -get alignment sorted out. -slam on arse! -snap off hub and spacer -hydro wand to replace the shitty non working standard hbrake. |

| I disagree, despite others thinking otherwise. I've bent three lots of pins on normal wands and my hydro is proper savage and feels better at high speeds. The only issue is the way it shares the system with the footbrake and also bleeding it seems to be a bit of a mission. Other than that I trust the hydro more than drums, seems much better fit for purpose than a drum brake thats supposed to keep a stationary car still. |

| ![]() ![]() really not very happy now.ive done less than 200 miles since actually owning this car, in which time, one of the coilovers is knocking like frick and the clutch (which we were hoping would just be a bust slave cylinder) is 100 percent fooked. and possibly even the flywheel. havnt opened it up yet, just removed the bit where the slave cylinder joins onto the gearbox, which was split and pissing fluid out, soon as we removed the two bolts, two clutch fingers fell out! lots of bits of clutch: ![]() didnt bother going any further, as it was pretty obvious im going to need a whole new clutch kit. pretty pissed off to be honest as im broke at the moment, and its gonna cost a lot of money to fix. anyway, thought i might as well do something, so riveted on a bit of perspex to my missing window to keep the pikeys out. it cracked like a mofo in places, but itll do for now, and will look much better when ive put trim round the edges to cover up all the nastyness!: ![]() |
