wahey! its alive again! got the new clutch in just in time the night before lydd, so i now have a ORC series 409 clutch, which is a serious bad ass piece of kit.

however, christ, the mess we found when we took the old one out, wow!:

clutch cover (missing fingers)

flywheel, scored to buggery:

and the release bearing, well just wow! the twisted bit of metal is actually a ball bearing. how fooked is that:

Clutch feels amazing! instant engagement and unsuprisingly didnt slip at all.

First time at skidding her at lydd, struggled in the morning, as lots of power, coilovers, extra lock, no body roll, decent diff are all things ive never had before, and wow it feels weird!

think at first i was trying too hard, i.e way too much manfoot, then realised it doesnt need it.

the handbrake 100 percent does not work though, and i dont just mean because its a s14 setup and isnt very good, i mean it does nothing! i used to rely heavily on the wand in my old s13 so it was good practice to actually drift just using the weight of the car and clutch kicks, even then most of the time i could just power over.

however definetly need a handbrake in there! would make things much easier!

by the afternoon i had it nailed though, could link the whole of lydd together, there was just a few times i could of done with a hanbrake to extend a few slides/get some much earlier entries.

anyway, overall im mega impressed with it! its a million times easier to drift than anything ive ever had and was bulletproof all day.

however lots of this:

eventualy did result in this:

which has made the back end look a bit like this;

So will need to remove and do a better job of reattatching, not a massive fix.

next on the list as i said needs to be a hanbrake setup of some description, yes i could fit an s13 setup but tbh id rather have a hydro so thats the route im going to go down.

Need a harness, as seatbelts in a bucket seat suck balls.

Steering spacer, after driving mikes which almost touchs your chest! i actually found it much much easier, so another thing on the list.

Lower the coilovers a lot, maybe get some rear adjustable camber arms. then get the whole thing aligned.

not much else at the moment planned, need to finish removing a few bits; carbon can and EGR, plate up the rear interior, plumbed in fire ext and some decent looking rear lights.

lol, i forgot how much fun we had getting the box off.

the bulkhead got an absolute smashing with a hammer to widen it a bit, and now gearbox goes on fine!

right, had a few hours spare so decided to have a go at fixing the rear bumper, as it looked like this:

made some new mounts, fooked off the bumper support bar from under it. looks much better:

then crazy dave was kind enough to come round with his newly aquired arch roller! (massive thanks bud, i owe ya!)

didnt take us long, suprising how fooking knackering it was! we could of really done with a heat gun to stop the paint cracking so badly, but im not fussy when it comes to looks and ill touch them up with some paint soon.

few pics:

much better! didnt want to go any further as to risk putting huge dents in places! but im happy with it.

has definetly made a few things apparant;

1) i need to get my buddy clubs reshoed ASAP and start filling those arches! although prob be able to space them slightly.

2) it needs slamming on its arse by about a foot!

Im going for a weeks holiday in the new forest so not gonna wind down coilovers until then, as theres lots of dirt tracks etc over there, and i plan to do some awesome sliding, rally style!

but thats next on the agenda on my return, wind them right down, big wheels back on, lots of camber and possibly some spacers if needed. then touch up the paint, smooth it all down.

Jeez man, you've gone OTT on those arches! I think you've done too much pulling up rather than pulling out, you're gonna have to go very low and get chunky spacers to make that work I think.

See my flare? Thats running a 9.5J ET+7 to fill that small flare and my car can't go any lower as I wore through the loom [which is already relocated in the engine bay!] at Lydden plus my tyres catch on the arch edges at the front.

Mine are a pretty much like that with 8j -20 offset and fill em good, but it's low. Rolling the arches before you have some wheels is a bad move though haha, you want to get the wheels and roll the arches just right to suit them really. Oh well, looks like a good job with the roller anyway.

No more gay stickers though ffs haha

topi, the mistake I made on your S13 was not removing the shock from the hub, having the hub so high gives you a funny angle between the roller and arch, resulting in arches you can rest ornaments on

i see what you mean,

i do already have a set of 9j buddy club p1s, there just awaiting some tyres after lydd.

i am planning on going crazy low and run some big spacers, i think itll work. those white wheels are skinny as fook with weak offset so it does make them look way back into the arch.

just have to see how it looks with spacers and decent rims on, end of the day if its epic bad, ill just grind them out and buy overfenders

you might be able to still rework it if it doesn't look right. Undo the shock like I mentioned and try and get up behind the arch more maybe?

all these nice WORKING s13's are giving a yearning for another now

Like I say, I think you've pulled it UP too much rather than out. Depends if the idea was to fit wide wheels with a stretched tyre under the fender [i.e tucked] or to allow the tyre to sit level with the edge of the fender. As they are there you could run really square side-wall tyres, i.e wide tyres - but a stretched tyre would look a bit pants because the stretch would be fairly pointless. If you get me. Its tricky to describe without doing a terrible MSPaint diagram.

I see what you mean dude. Luckily I quite like that and the wheels fit perfect haha.

And I think you should give in to your dirty thoughts
