| ![]() Okay well I've just found out that this means "Angle, Distance, Entry Speed" which is a pretty cool phrase! Wouldnt mind getting it on a shirt lol!! It also means that if it was a track car in Japan then it probably must have been a drift car rather than a grip one. |

| Very true lol. Had to leave the car there that night and come back for it because basically the cop said to me "I'll see you outside and you'll be walking home", I replied "Sorry but I only bought the car a few days ago so havent got the log book back to NCT or Tax it", and then he replied "I dont give a fuck". Wasnt the most polite of lads fpmsl. |

| Over here not having tax would be pretty serious, however you cant really tax a car without the log book of the car, and so generally arent expected to if your only after purchasing it. You also cant really NCT a car without the log book. You might be able to tax and NCT a car based on its chassis number but I'm not sure on that, and nobody does it like that anyway. So Legally I was fine I think but I didnt want to risk having them take the car off me, so I just parked it up and came back for it when they were gone. |

Everyone has a drift car these days and due to the huge shortage of tracks in Ireland (only Mondello and watergrasshill now) I can see it all collapsing a bit over the next few years, and Time Attack growing. However Time Attack only has Mondello (international and national layouts) so thats its downfall. You'd also have to be very good and have a big budget to make it anywhere in the drifting. So i'm really weighing up my options and seeing what to do at the moment. I'll probably try both of them and see which I prefer.

Its just less likely I'll wreck the car in TA as easily as drifting, less likely being the key word there ! But still hope to drift it, just maybe not at a very competitive level, unless of course I turn out to be quite good!

| Just thought I'd throw up the video of my AE86 levin 20v getting dyno'd at Couture Auto on Tuesday. The car made 127.71Hp at the wheels and 156Hp at the fly, at 7,900Rpm. It made a max of 113ft/lb of Torque. I'd normally rev the car to 8,500 or maybe 9,000Rpm but with the trackday on Saturday I just told Nick to only go to about 8k. The last thing I needed was for something to go wrong lol and it was more for interest and fun than to find out real figures!! It was still making power all the way to 7.9k so I'd expect it to be somewhere in the 160-165Hp range when reved out fully. Which is a good figure considering most 20v levin bzr/bzg's were making in the 140's at Couture, and are notorious for being alot lower than factory figures. Due to the freedom ecu thats in it (which although the best you can get for AE86's, the software is only available in Japaneese so unmapable in Ireland) the car is not running at optimum in that sense either. However Nick said he might give it a go if I get the software and connections for him which I should be able to do, and would be interesting to see what it could make then. So all in all I'm delighted, and for a car that only weighs about 850kg, and has a 4.8Fd with TRD gear set, its a nice amount of power to have. I'll scan the sheets and throw them up when I get back to the home house tomorrow. But for now heres a pic and the video of the first and second runs (look out for a nice bit of flamage on the first onebt ).I'd like to than Nick, Sonny and the rest of the staff of CDA and have to say its a great set-up. The flatscreen TV that lets you and not just the tuner see the graphs and figures is a great idea aswell, and I'd highly recommend them to anyone. Also doing the rolling road in Shootout mode prevents any fantastical flywheel figures, and so tells you the truth about your car, and doesnt just give you a false figure to keep you happy. ![]() ![]() |
