my r33 gtst rebuild

after having the block bored out and decked the head skimmed and cleaned i sttarted with the rebuild of the engine yesterday, with help from my e-bay book for the tourque settings and a few mates and Jo for toping us up with tea

it started

so that's the block safter a coat of smooth blach hammerite

i oiled her up an put the ACL race barings in

put all the new shiney pistons out

then i put the crank in with the cap

and the heated the pistons good and propper and made the pistons up with the rods and new ACL rece bearings and locked them in with spira locks a bit fiddly but easy when you get the hang of it

so then i used a piston ring compresser and poped them in to there new homes arhhh!!!!

the the next bit happend qutte fast and no pics sorry 1.3 triple layerd head gasket and the head went on with new ARP head bolts then the pullys, oil pump and a N1 uprated water pump and the the sump

then i put the new cam belt on with the new idler and tensoner pullys on together with the covers and the cam angle sensor
god it's starting to look like an engine now

then got the inlet plenum back on with all the pipe work and the oil cooler and filter holder and any other bits that needed to go on

and thats it folks for now
an engine :ext_beer2:
